I would like to be clear on what you guys are talking about. I'm using 93 octane only, and I was having an issue with my AFR stability in different weather conditions before MRFred introduced the correct Airflow/Hz correction table. Are you saying that if I have these changes in my hot and cold temperature AFR's that I'm using methanol? Or, is this situation only concerning the air density vs air temp table?

I'd also like to share a tidbit concerning fuel by brand. I've noticed that I have to enrich my fuel maps when using Hess gasoline as opposed to when I use Shell or Mobile in which I have to enlean my fuel map. Has anyone else tested this?

No, I'm questioning if his AFR changes are due to his water/meth injection.

Your's may be a different issue all together or there may be something else causing the AFR changes that is showing up on some cars but not others.

On 94170015, I get very little change (less then ~0.2) in AFR with IAT ranging from 0F-80F. I can't say above 80F if the AFR remains stable or not.

Perhaps you're right. Perhaps it has more to do with water/meth. Yes I've been using it the whole time. No there's no way to compensate. It's simply an on/off solenoiod @ 12psi.

-Yes I have leanspool disabled-

Suppose I could test without injection... but that's even more work. lol, I'm lucky I'm allowed to tune and get out to the race track as it is. Plus it takes about a quarter tank every time I take the car to work to tune. Good point though. Suppose I don't know very well how water is going to affect AFR. At any rate, this table seems to help but I've still got the issue where my initial pull AFRs are about .8ish leaner than those that I see after I do many hard runs.

Keep an eye on your intake and coolant temps under those conditions. Usually, the IAT are considerably cooler the first couple pulls because the engine bay has not become heat soaked. If the engine is not completely up to operating temp, you could be getting some funky AFR corrections based on coolant temp as well.

If you have a good sealed off intake system that sources air from outside the engine bay, the IAT stuff is much less of an issue (basically non-existent).

If the issues are being caused by the water/meth, which I suspect they are, that doesn't mean it can't be tuned for. You just need to have a proper understand of what the actual issue is before you can correctly tune for it.

OK I see. What do you think about the bit on gasoline brands? What brand of gasoline are you using and do you generally use the same brand of gasoline all the time?

EDIT:
Tested AFR's using Shell, Mobile, Sonoco, and Hess; all AFR's had very minor changes(.2)

I need to get my WB issues sorted out before I look into this much further. It seems as I beat on the car very hard the AFR gets richer and richer until it says 10:1 under load and 20:1 at no load. I think I've overheated the sensor and I'm not sure I can trust its output right now. I've ordered a new sensor and a copper sheet to make a heat sink.

Okay, it was definitely my WB sensor.

What kind of wideband were you using?

I noticed a difference when using AEM as opposed to the Innovate. I'm not quite sure of which sensor to trust as both sensors are about the same age.

Is the XML for the "Fuel Trim vs Air Temp" table available for 88590015? I am currently stuck using the "Airflow/Hz Baro and Air Temp Compensation" table in Ecuflash because I am unable to locate the correct XML.

Table in question is below:

I've seemed to cure my AFR temp change for e85 w/fic1050.
yesterday it was almost 80f, last month it dipped to 32f giving me opportunity to play with it.

The cooler it got the leaner it was

I am also on e85 with the FIC1050s and have had the same exact issue. Thanks for posting your tables!

this thread is a damm good read, but, the snipit of info I'm after has not been covered.

Specifically, over what barometric pressure range will the system compensate for.

The reason for the research is, of course, running Pikes Peak in July.
The initial tuning will be done in Australia, then whatever else on the mountain, starting at 9000 feet and on to 14000 feet. Sheesh! Will it work or not!
