Question Car does not start with tephra rom 9626009

Guys,

My JDM evo 8 MR came stock with the 9626007 rom which I was trying to update with the 9626009 as per Tephras advice.

I downloaded the rom and the xml def. I did the necessary changes to the xml file((adding stuff at the end of the xml file and the new boost def. for dual solenoid set up) and after uploading it into the ECU the car does not want to start.

I would really appreciate if someone could go through the files and point out the problem/s.

The hex and xml filr are just below. (the immobilizer code is not real jus to be safe

The hex file:
http://www.box.net/shared/98lpdi5yhv)

The xml file:
http://www.box.net/shared/fzu82arkqq

Thank you in advance.

Peter

see in ur tephra mod section for the Valet Mode. if its on and set to a low rpm the car will not start.

just check over ur settings and ensure valet mode is off. i think u need to press the X right down when the ignition is on (not the car started).

does it just continously crank and not catch or catch and then die?

Its almost midnight so I will test it tomorrow. I finally found some info on the valet mode and I think this is my problem. ( I knew what it does but did not know it should be activated/deactivated.

And yes the car sort of wants to start "catch" but it can't so it seams.

Do you know if with that valet mode, once it is switched on, will it stay on even after I switch the car off or do I have to activate it every time I want to use it?

It stays activated on fresh startup as far as I'm aware. Otherwise it'd be useless at preventing a valet driver from beating on your car.

Yes got it sorted so all good

So what is the best way to log load now, is it the load mut 2 byte mode or load calculated?

Am i suppose to do any other mods to your xml file?

It confuses me a bit when I try to do the map tracing with the 2.61 evoscan as it gives me different load options for the y axis and I dont know which one I should choose as they dont give the same values.

Thanks in advance.

I shouldn't have said y axis as it is x axis (my mistake). Anyway, on my brothers Gsr evo 8, there does not seam to be any difference between different loads when you choose them for the map tracer but it varies for my jdm evo 8 mr and this was done on the stock 96260007 rom without the tephra rom.

I have not logged the car yet after uploading the 96260009 tephra rom but I guess it will be similar scenario.

Not sure what to do. Which load to choose for the map tracing and which one should I be logging? Do I need any additional mods to the tephra xml?

Cheers,
