v7 REV LIMIT not working

I've read several threads that state the REV Limit isn't working. Just for the heck of it I tried with mine and nope....mine isn't working either.

SO....

Let's work to solve this Issue.

I would assume that there is a Periphery Bit that controls the function of the Rev limit. I just don't know what one.

Please discuss.

UPDATE

I switched to the 94170715 rom and everything works perfectly again.

Thanks Tephra for making a USDM "universal" rom.

Are you talking about the rev limit or stationary rev limit? The thread butrnzy is referring to is stationary rev limit.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...6530706-a.html

There is a reference to a patch there. But nowhere to get it...

Periphery bit? mrfred or tephra to the rescue!

If it is the rev limit I am glad I have not thrashed my engine yet.

I plan to test this later if I can get enough juice to actually have a flash take.

EDIT: Nevermind, the stationary rev limiter works fine on the IX / 88590715.

hmm - 0xDEAD has V7 965 rom running on his dsm and we were playing with the stationary rev limiter / launch maps and it worked fine.

I also believe it works fine on my 88590015 V7? I will double check at lunch....

You are pushing the clutch in when you free rev to hit the stationary limiter correct?

I wonder if the difference is the SD version or the regular MAF version? I am on on the MAF version non-live map.

In my case both the stationary and the rolling rev limits do not work. Well the rolling one works to an extent....I won't let my engine rev past 8k. My limit is set at 7500 and the engine will pass it.

My stationary rev limit works fine...at least the last I tried. Maybe I can try again tomorrow to be sure.

There is a TON that has to be done to the non SD v7 to get it to run well in a USDM car. Hopefully my secret squirrel mission will prove worth while.

As for the REV limit not working....what might be some causes??? Then I can start testing.

someone needs to look at the dusassembly. on the stationary rev there were a few more tests that the sub did, maybe one of the vars is also used on the normal rev limit.

saying that i am sure my car obeys the normal limit which i have set to 7400rpm, and that was on the dma but no sd version.

havent checked the sd version yet
