I took the ECU out of the case and grabbed some high res pics of the board. If somebody can provide a place to put these up and the community would find them useful, let me know.

I figured it may help track down some inputs/outputs on the ECU pins.

Oh, something I noticed right away that I thought was interesting...


Looks like it has an 8M clock speed, I think we had assumed it was 7.5M based on other things? The scaling from RPM anyway looks to be based on 7.5M...

That would be strange if the Evo8 ecus ran at 8 MHz. Maybe they have an internal clock multiplier?

The older H8s run at 16 MHz.

Doing some reading, the internal clock multiplies the external oscilator by 4.

Anybody have any idea what the hell this is?

It is labeled as E328 2BAH5EJ

It looks like most of the inputs run to it before making it over to the main CPU.

The large EXXX chip is Programmable Logic.

It basically reroutes/latches/inverts/etc. the inputs.

If you haven't found another place to host them, go ahead and toss them up on the wiki somewhere under the ECU_Development page (the "for developers" link in the sidebar gets you there too). Bandwidth hasn't been a problem at all for the wiki so far.
