Openport 2.0, SD Card logging and logcfg.txt

Hi guys

Just trying to figure out how to use the SD card logging feature of openport 2.0..

After doing some search, I figured that you need to put logcfg.txt in the root directory of the sd card, and that file holds information of what should be logged.

I have found a sample logcfg.txt file for an Evo10, which I assume will be different than Evo 9. My looking at the file, it seems like it specifies memory address which it should read from. Is this correct? if it is, how do I figure out what to log?

Is there anyone who got the sd card logging to work on an Evo 9?

Or could anyone post a sample logcfg.txt file for an evo 9 please

thanks so much for the file.

In your file, i see a parameter below-
paramname=WBO2
paramid=0x3C
scalingrpn=x,0.0392156863,*,9.6,+

is that for logging AFR from a wideband? if so, how do you hook up your wide band with openport2.0?

Thanks in advance, so nice to see people who are willing to help in the evo scene..!

Even though you asked not me, I can tell you the answer. WBO2 is wired directly into the ECU in the RearO2 ADC. This way you can easily log AFR from WBO2 along with other parameters from the ECU.

As well in this case you can use the WBO2 for the AFR safety feature in Tephra ROMs.

Can anybody point me where I can read how to upgrade the firmeare on my OP2.0? Seems that it is not up to date as I can not get to log to SD card.

Firmware update is included in the new versions of Ecuflash, for example 1.43.3150beta include firmware update for the OP2 as well.

WBO2 wired into RearO2 ADC input in the ECU + MAP sensor wired into its stock (for USDM and JDM) location in the ECU = happy logging

So all you have to do is place the lofcfg.txt file above in the root directory of the micro SD card, load "Mode 23" onto your XML file (Is it the same code for an 8/9 as it is a X?), have the beta ECU FLash 1.43.1350 and you are good to go?

Am I missing something?

Also, what triggers are you guys using? Or are you just going from start to stop? I know the X guys use the cruise control. Is there anyway possible we could use something like the rear defrost or something to trigger?

There needs to be a how-to for this!

My personal preference is to ALWAYS log.

Yes it makes going through the logs to find what you need more difficult, but its better to have more information than less.

If you only wanted to capture WOT logs, you could just trigger on TPS.

I guess you could wire up a switch to the ECU if you really wanted a seperate trigger device..

So Tephra, do you know anything about using this standalone on the CT9A?

If so, does this sound about right?

no for CT9A there is no such thing as mode23.

You will need to use MUT requests

check out the mitsubishi k-line logging file in:
C:\Program Files\OpenECU\EcuFlash\samples\logging

That should give you a decent base to work from...

How do I log LC-1 with OP2 to SD card? What line shall I add to the logcfg.txt? Can I plug it directly into mini-plug socket?
