I have a 03 evo 8 but when I read the ecu on my car it pops up a 2004 with ID:94170008?

Im new to all this flashing stuff.

Im trying to delete my rear o2 because I have a test pipe using this method https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...8590015-a.html

How do I do it on mine? I don't want to messing anything up? Im also trying to do the tephra mod. I think I have it in there right but the launch map doesn't seem any different then when I just had the stationary limit set. Seems like everyone else is shooting flames when launching or while shifting. Im not shooting anything.

Don't worry about the 2004.

The patch you linked is for the 88590015 rom, which isn't what you have. You need to find one for your rom version (94170008).

The launch map has to be tuned. To get flames etc you need to pull timing and add fuel. However TBH with you being a newbie and not really knowing what you're doing yet, I'd recommend either reading some more before making changes or just paying a tuner to do them.

The problem is I cant find one for 94170008. It seems like everyone is switching to a diff rom.

Should I switch to 96530006 or something else?

I was just trying to get a good launch control set up till I get tuned.
I am going to have it tuned after I get all my parts in. I want to get a 93/e85 tune on sd and will be running gsc s2 not sure on what injectors yet though. I want to learn how to tune so I can dail in the car when weather changes and what not.

I think 9653 is the more popular rom for evo VIII's.
