Deleting rear o2 sensor for wideband

i found a link that was very specific when i didn't need it a while back and now can't. I don't want to have to send it of to have the new o2 sensor welded in. If any body can help that'll be great! I want to delete the o2 sensor and modify the hardware of the ecu so the the cel doesn't come up or change the way the car drives or idles.

Rear o2 doesn't affect the driving of the car in any way. It's only there to check whether the cat is working properly.

I notice it says bone stock in your sig; do you still have the cat installed? If so you should not place the o2 sensor after the cat, you want get proper readings.

I am just going to weld in the wideband o2 sensor. I don't wanna play with the Ecu, I can't afford screwing it up with all the mods I bought.

You're not going to screw anything up disabling the rear o2 test...

Besides, you should be getting the car tuned after installing the mods, so you'll be playing with the ecu either way.

I'm sorry to point it out, but it was funny for a sec! Our Evos have V & X in their numbers so it's easy to mix it up.

will disabling the rear o2 show up if they plug in for state inspections? I need this problem gone (P0171) and I dont want to deal with troubleshooting it since everyone has a different of what that code could be.

There are 2 ways of getting rid of the rear o2 sensor.

First one is is to totally delet it and second is to run a forced inspection patch. Deleting it will cause a not ready code for inspection and will cause u to fail

I placed a spark plug defouler into the test pipe first than the sensor & I had no check engine light for years. Now it's came back & the code says something wrong with the o2 sensor.

I noticed, but didn't say anything because it was funny.

Ditch the factory rear O2 and then wire the aftermarket one into the ECU so you can log the wideband.
