EVAP purge/ventilation solenoids
I have read through the detailed EGR removal thread(s) which in part talks about the EVAP system, but I'm still curious about the specific conditions required for the purge and ventilation solenoids to operate.
Do only evo 8/9 had a ventilation solenoid and evo -7 doesn't?
Is it the case that prior to CT9A no purge solenoid existed in the EVAP system and only a one-way check valve? Has anyone experienced failure of this check valve??
The Evo 9 manual seems to suggest that the purge solenoid operates at a cruise state and is closed at idle, but does this purge solenoid also only operate based on a differential pressure validated by the ECU?
