Moving to England with plans on taking the Evo
I should be in england around August time frame.
Is there anyone here in the Mildenhall/Lakenheath area? If so what can i expect with the evo there? Do they do emissions testing? What about the road tax? Any info will be appreciated!

Not there yet but I have the same plans! I'll get there shortly after you.
This is where I got the information I know so far https://www.whereismypov.com/gpc2/
Also, I talked to the guys at LancerRegister and they gave a bit more info http://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.php?t=444736
Hope that helps. Good luck! I'd like to know what you end up doing so I can be prepared.

Woot! Glad to know there will be a few of us
FYI the Nurburgring is only 7 1/2 hours from Lakenheath
and the 'ring is only an hour from Spangdahlem. drove on it with my Audi, but it's been a dream of mine to get my Evo on it
also, there are a few other tracks around Lakenheath that we can get our cars onto

So what info should I know about up keeping the Evo there? Do they use salt on the roads?
Can't wait to hit a couple of tracks and travel around in the Evo.

I could see why they are rusty with the salt on the roads. I may look into some undercarriage treatment and hopefully I can rinse the car off frequently.
Why the bad rep in Germany?

**Warning, Long post**
Will probably hurt some feelings with this but I don't care.
I've been living in Europe since '03 and have owned an Evo since '04....here are my tips.
Been in the UK since '09 and yes, they salt the roads pretty badly. It's almost like super salt or something but it honestly doesn't bother me. Cars are meant to be driven and I DD my Evo in all conditions. I have winter tires and summer tires. My car has never been off the road for more than a couple days because of maintenance reasons. And that's usually because I'm too lazy to do the work sometimes. I'm not a huge HP guy and would choose reliability over HP any day of the week so my car is damn near stock and has been since day one.
One thing I will give the Brits is that they LOVE motorsports. It's almost an obsession and I love it. If it has a combustion engine they will find away to compete it.
The MLR host a time attack series that covers most of the country with classes for everything. I highly suggest taking one of the driver training days with CATDT. I learned more in that one day of training than I ever did at any trackday I've ever done. MLR also host lots of trackdays throughout the year. Easily some of the best trackdays I've ever attended. Because of them I've made multiple trips to the Ring, Spa, and a couple tracks in country. I'm not really into drag racing but I think Santa Pod is close to the Lakenheath/Mildenhall area. BTW, Mildenhall has the good gas.
Ring trips are something every car guy should experience but with caution. I've lost count how many times I've gone but I think my lap count is ~50....which is nothing. Been going to the Ring for years and it's amazing seeing it evolve. I remember when laps were 12euro, now its something like 24euro. My only suggestions to the Ring are ignore all video games or "simulators" you have done. Sure they are good for familiarization but nothing prepares you for elevation changes, weather, other cars, and the sheer reality of it. Over confidence because of a "game" will bite you real quick. I've taken my Evo and have even had an off in it. But the fastest I've ever gone was in a rented 1.6L Suzuki Swift. Driving a lower horsepower caged car with lots of grip will teach you more than your Evo will in the early laps. I also suggest lodging as close to the track as possible. Most of the locals hotels are awesome and the staff are extremely friendly. Besides, you NEVER know what could happen.
The UK is easily the second Mecca of Evo and I suggest taking advantage while you can. Get all the rare parts you can(I did) and have fun.
Edit: Also do yourself a favor and get some load resistors for your headlights to pass MOT. Unless you already own some JDM headlights.
