Official 3rd gear Street Pull - Data Thread

Official 3rd gear Street Pull - Data Thread

Dynos are nice... but they are all different and typically create a load that isn't totally road-like. Where the rubber literally hits the road is on a 3rd gear street pull. Lots can be said of a setup based on the data provided in a 3rd gear street pull.

So here's the deal. Make a 3rd gear pull from 2000 RPM or so to redline. Use a flat road, no hills, no brake boosting.

- List your setup

- Plot "boost vs RPM", this will show us how fast your turbo spools on the street in real-world conditions

- Plot RPM vs Time

- Plot Speed vs Time

- Plot HP and TQ numbers if your datalogger can do such a thing.

Here's Boost vs RPM. Load is in pink to show an approximate torque curve. I'll have the other plots tomorrow after more tuning.



DLL Plot Pump Gas 24 psi (weight was wrong for the car, more like 400 whp).



DLL Plot E85 28 psi (correct car weight)

Most bolt on's besides stock fmic, stock turbo, Ecuboost. Does over 370whp on DLL. Full spool at 3340 according to my ZT2 and holds 20.5 to 7500rpm.

I'll start with debunking the opinion that a well-setup dyno can't replicate street load.

i am embarassed to put up my numbers lol.... all i am making is 300

all i got is a 3" TBE and 3 port BCS. hitting 24 psi @ peak tapering to 22 psi.

log done in 3rd gear from 3000rpm and i got full boost at 3551 rpm

Most shops don't bother to even try! You guys do good work, and I know you've done lots of research on loggers vs dynos!

New Graphs, I'll add boost logs next time I do logging:
