OK. So I'm tracking a regular 3076r with .63 a/r making 495whp on pump 93 @ 31PSI tapering to around 29PSI, right? When I say "regular" I'm not talking about either the HTA3076r or GT3076r. The reason that I'm asking is clearly for the price differences of each turbo. Is this on a Mustang dyno? Can the 3076r run E85 without a double pumper? Thanks.

I have seen you ask this same question many times and you are asking the wrong question. The turbo has nothing to do with whether you need a double pumper or not. You need a double pumper at a certain power level. Once you cross that line on ANY turbo you need a double pumper with E85. It is all about the fuel and HP, not the turbo. Buying a turbo because it cant make enough HP to require a double pump is a stupid criteria. That is limiting yourself to an underperforming setup. Dont turn the boost up to where you need a double pump until you have one.

Good Luck

I have to disagree with you to some degree. The reason why I ask has everything to do with the amount of air "x" turbo is capable of flowing into the chambers and not having enough fuel supplied once combustion occurs hence the need for the larger injectors and additional fuel pump (when applicable). So yes, the type of turbo you are running is an important factor regardless of how much power you have. Is it possible to run E85 on the stock VIII turbo and stock injectors? No, as E85 requires about 30% more fuel which takes the stock injectors beyond their capacity. Since I'm asking about the 76r, I know that I can run E85 on 1000cc injectors but the tune would be very conservative and not allow me to take advantage of the added benefits of the fuel used. I suppose I'm asking is for those running E85, what threshold did you reach before having to purchase the double pumper?

You can disagree with me all you want but you are wrong. I have run E85 on DSM's and EVO's for 4 years and know quite a bit about it. Also the comment about stock turbo and injectors, you sure could run e85 on a stock turbo and stock injectors but you wouldnt be able to turn it up past about 300whp. I also wouldnt try to run e85 on stock pump. After that you need bigger injectors. Once you make more power than a single walboro can support on E85 you need a double pumper.

I would recommend twin pumps to support a 3076 on E85

If you re-read my comment, you will see that we are basically talking about the same things.

Thanks, TTP as I'll look into the double pumper. Great... another purchase I planned on not making. Oh well, I guess Uncle Sam will just have to give me more Iraqi deployment money.

TTP is a great shop and knowledgeable on the evo, the only cars they work on!

I'll be the first to tell you that having an evo means your going to be broke. I put more money into my car than i do with anything else. Next summer is when I'm really going to break bank. Time to build the motor.

I've figured this out already. Just as I'm thinking I'm finishing up my build, something else comes along. I feel like promising to my wife anything pertaining to my car would be pointless.

God I made that mistake! I don't tell the fiance anything anymore. Because I always get the "You ****ing lied to me!". Well no I didn't baby, but at that point it doesn't matter to fight in your defense because the bedroom door is shut and the couch is looking good!

I know what you mean. As soon as I fix one thing something else tends to fall apart. Now I'm on my third tranny build!

Scott,

How far have you guys been able to push a HTA3076 on E85 or Meth? Is it possible to out perform at Red? I know that Reds tend to not be that great on pump but they really open up from 28-35lbs on Meth and E85. I have seen a few Reds in the 600hp range. Can a HTA3076 reach those number or at that point it's going to look like a stock turbo dyno graph over 6.5k?
