Question My 2003 Evo VIII tuning.

Yo was up! i just got my evo 8 tuned this morning. I think that i should have been pushing more hp then i thought. I'm about to tell you guys what's going on. On my low boost i'm pushing 253 hp on 18psi, on my high boost i'm pushing 261hp on 21 psi. ik that my car should have been pushing more then that. the guy that had this car before me had installed a greddy type rs bov, stock wastegate still on it, aftermarket intercooler with injen ic pipes, i think that he also changed the clutch b/c it doesn't feel stock, aftermarket turbo headers, 3' full apexi exhaust system, i have the stock 16G turbo, but the large one and i also think that i have stock fuel injectors as well. the guy that had to tune my evo, we tunned it on my stock ecu b/c i didnot have any tunning soft-ware,so he did a ecuflash on it. when we had test drive it, on my high boost it was hitting 22psi but it was going back and forth from 22-20 then 20-22, he was staying that my wastegate wasnt allowing any more power to come to it. i was hoping that i would have been pushing at least over 300awhp, but i'm allow pushing out 260awhp. my car was also too rich but we tuned it down where it's not rich anymore. can someone tell me why i wasnt able to hit at least over 300awhp?

Did you leak test before spending hundreds on a tune? Also 21-22psi is not that high in boost for the "mods" you listed, i am sure you can get away with 23-24psi(make sure you have a walbro fuel pump)

If it's a true mustang dyno then you're doing ok in power, if you're confused and it's a dyno jet then your car is right next door to a STOCK evo in hp(i doubt that though)

i also forgot to put in the mods that i also have walbro fuel pump in it as well. i remeber that i had a leak in my intercooler, one of the pipes on the intercooler had got bent, but i was able to fix that like 5 months ago, i bent it back. i think it's a mustang dyno, idk.

In a 1/4 mile, i had ran 13.1 in my evo and i heard that a stock evo runs like 13.4-13.6 or something, but at that time i was running like 20.5 psi, but my car was rich and i was just learning how to race it thou and i was babying it too.

dynodyamics is not a mustang dyno. I believe it reads lower than the dyno jet, but not as bad as a mustang.
Ok, what's your 1/4 slip break down? 60' ..we can see if you can't drive or your car is really low on power. My evo8 with an intake & TbE ran 13.1@103mph(years ago)

i dont have my slip any more. i could not really drive the evo like talking about, but it's been a year now and i have gotten better as a driver. i was getting use to the evo so i was a beginer with the evo, but i got better now as a driver now with my evo. the next time that i will put my evo on the track is at import face-off or test n tune.

get that greddy bov out of there. those things have proven over and over again to leak over 12lbs. pick up an evo 9 bov, forge, or aps and you will see a big difference.

Greddy bov is good, but the diaphragms leak very prematurely, that's why people are always selling them.

I have a Forge RS bov(adjustable) ...i have used quite a few recirculating and other this is one of the best for driveability and boost holding (30psi +)

Evo9 bov, and APS bov are both for great for holding boost, i would recommend for your type of application.

Forge wastegates are good, stock wastegate is crap when you want to hold more boost at redline.
