I'm saying that you may be right with "average speed", just that Spyros didn't quote "average speed"

If you want we can calculate acceleration, maximum speed etc., but the numbers that Spyros mentioned was obviously average speed.

AHAHAHHAHA, nono mate, I'm from Italy and I have a lot of admiration for what Spyros do, he his a real R&D man!!!

Also if we consider the 20.000rpm revlimit of the 2006 season, it will be 28.7m/s.

+1

0.043 meter stroke
=0.086 meters traveled per revolution

0.086 * 18000 rpm = 1548 meters traveled in a minute

1548 / 60 seconds in a minute = 25.8 meter/sec

This is however mean piston speed, not peak.

Spyros, let's see your math for peak speed

You have to know the rod length to calculate the peak piston speed, but this link does a good job of explaining it in the "piston motion" section.

How is any of this a good thing on the road? Seriously. The Evo in the video is billed as a street car. What happens when the thing is driving around with 2.0-worth of torque before it begins to rev? It's a slug with a big wing. Really, I cannot for the life of me understand how this is something to be admired. A racecar that's kept on the boil, sure. A street car that has to negotiate the obstacles posed by life, itself, not so much. What don't I understand?

my guess is none at all. since this new economy makes rich people richer and poor people poorer. his focus is attracting those with money from around the world. he seems to be doing quite well at it.

f1 bore 98mm and 8-cyl displacement 2.4l means that the stroke size is around 39.8mm .. around 1.5" which is not much compared to the 4g63. This piston has a lot more distance to cover in a stroke. impressive stuff.
