Once I get the bottom end built and up the boost, this turbo will be close to 600 on the mustang dyno no problem. And while E85 itself may contain certain properties such as added cooling effect, the end result of a setup with over 450 wtq on a mustang dyno is not so friendly to the stock bottom end.

Thanks for posting the graph! You can tell this thing has a lot more in it. Can you tell us more about your intake manifold? Is it a ported stocker, a SMIM, or what?

look into the ID2000's if you have the cash... that power is excellent at 29psi with stock head and ecu.. especially when this turbo can go so much higher when you are ready!

I agree whole heartedly with keeping it turned down till the bottom is built.. don't make the same mistake I and a few others did lol...

What does full spool mean? I know start spool...and full boost.

full boost, I apologize for any confusion. I've been eying those ID2000's and I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on them. My intake manifold is made by Reese Tuning in San Diego and it is like a Wilson manifold on crack. On a flow bench it outflowed the wilson V3, or whatever their highest version is by an average of something like 5-10%. If you want more info on it contact Reese Tuning but it isnt cheap (around $1200) and it is modeled off of the stock intake manifold but they add material to certain areas so that they can increase the volume and a bunch of other stuff...definitely a nice piece.

Thanks for the comments everybody. I'm fairly confident that this turbo on a built bottom end will/can hit 600 on a mustang dyno very easily.

Any chance you have a boost profile? It looks like boost is purposefully left low from the 4000-4500 range or perhaps timing is extra low, based on the torque curve.

the timing is very low according to the shop that did the tune. I'm not very hip on the whole tuning thing but I did watch him take a lot of timing out out to bring the power down to be safe on the stock block.

Why don't you just turn down the boost instead of takin out so much timing?

Low timing can cause really high EGT which isn't easy on the motor, either.

I tuned this evo. We are speaking of an engine as well. A motor is powered by electricity. The tune on this car is very conservative and has plenty of room left to make power. Please do not comment Alligator, as you were not there and have clue what the ignition map looks like. Thanks. Also just to clarify, the boost simply spiked 29psi and held 27psi. We are using a GM solenoid. The injectors were tapped. Another reason why we left the boost alone.

Soon be installing a BR2.3L and SD conversion. I will keep everyone posted. This car is a true street car and very capable of more power.

Please do not delete this as I am not advertising business. I am simply correcting someone's arrogant remark about something they do not know.

I tend to agree with the poster above that if the car makes good power with proper timing at lower boost levels just leave it at a lower boost. Pulling timing to reduce power is not as efficient and doesnt make a lot of sense. Especially on an E85 car where knock isnt an issue. Just turn the boost down to a stock block friendly level. MBT is easier on the engine and uses the least fuel.
