Turbo back = Need Tune?

Had Tanabe Medalion Touring and Tanabe DP installed:

Stock with Perrin HFC (Boost)

Stock with Perrin HFC (AirFuel)

Post Exhaust & DP install

Overlay compare

Was told I'll need a tune. Didn't think I would with just Turboback.

Here is the info on the Dyno. One of the guys said their Dyno reads lower than most due to the load application:
Mustang MD1100SE-AWD chassis dynamometer. Unlike the more common inertia dynos of other facilities in the area, our dyno is equipped with an eddy current brake power absorption unit, which allows the calculated application of load to the vehicle, better simulating real world driving conditions.

You will make more power and your car will run properly with a tune.

You really should get a tune. Peace of mind, your car will run stronger and more safely.

I say pick up a few more mods then get a tune unless you don't plan on modding it anymore. Like an intake, lower ic pipe, fuel pump, MBC, etc.

I would add a few more mods (intake, mbc, licp) and then get a tune.

I'm running the exact same setup and love it -- tabane medalion touring, dp and perrin hfc

The guys at the shop running the dyno said that air fuel reading was dangerous and I would need a tune right away. I don't plan any any more changes until probably more than 6 months from now.

If the wideband on that dyno is accurate I would get it tuned TODAY.

Is it normal for a dp, hfc, exhaust to require a tune? I'm not driving it daily. Drove it home staying below 4k rpm and garaged it. Will try to get a tune upcoming Friday at a place close to Houston to be safe.

You can drive it all day everyday. Just stay out of boost.

Results after getting checked out

Not sure what the spike on the dyno was about. After the post exhaust install dyno the shop told me they could tune my Evo to make it safe. The quoted price was around $500 for a tune on their dyno.

I decided to go to MDR as I had originally planned to go there to check out their place. Here are the results:

First pull of the day we did with it was wicked rich. 10.1 AFR @7,000 rpm lol.
We did a very conservative tune on the car as he uses it for weekend fun with his family. Picked up a solid 20-25whp through the mid range, 14whp at peak. Torque was a bit higher, 25-30 through the mids and 23 peak. I will post the graph soon, its n the other computer at the shop. Overall, We had a good bit of gain, spool came faster and lasted longer. We didn't touch the boost

Keep in mind the peak gains are listed at the top of the chart, but the mid range is where you really see the gains. Also, this is NO boost adjustment, stock boost. VERY conservative tune, riching out a bit up top to account for the weather changes we get around here , thats why the power curves on the top end.

Also, this chart is on a MUSTANG dyno correction factor.

The car feels very strong throughout the midrange as mentioned above. It really woke up the car and is very fun to drive. They also installed a AEM UEGO for me so I could keep track of the A/F. Everything looks good and never gets near the spike on shown on the original dyno sheet in question.
