Evo 8 + PT6262 + E85 + Stock Block

This is a long term customer of mine that has been through quite a few setups and tunes so I know the car well.

When another local put up a turbo kit that was proven to make 620whp on our dyno with a fully built motor Evo 9, he grabbed it and installed it on his stock motor Evo 8 to see what it could do.

2003 Evo 8

Mods:

FFTec PT6262 V-band turbo kit with .82 hotside
STEVO8 Spec ported OEM Intake mani
Kelford 272's
Tial BOV
Perrin fmic
Milspec 65mm TB
AMS fuel rail
FIC BlueMax 1450cc injectors
BlaqOps progressive double pumper
TBE with testpipe
SGP COP ignition system
Zeitronix Wideband
GM 3port boost solenoid using ECU-controlled boost
Stock motor
Stock ECU using Speed Density and Tephra V7 mod
GST Motorsports custom dyno tune
E85

I tuned this car to help keep the stock bottom end together. I custom tuned the boost curve to ramp up as RPM increases so no sudden hit of torque. I also kept the peak torque as close to 400wtq as possible.

Pretty impressive numbers on this dyno and for a stock block. The turbo has the proven potential of 620whp+ on this dyno so he has more in his back pocket when he decides to build the motor

534 whp / 406 wtq at 32psi peak

478 whp / 389 wtq at 27psi peak

Do you recall the IDC's you were seeing? That's big power on stock motor, hope he's saving up for some internals

The power you got at 27 psi is almost Identical to the power I got at 28. I think we did 486 and 394. Customer is waiting to get bigger injectors then up the boost goes.

Good job GST
