GST custom dyno tune using Tephra Mods / map switching. (ecuflash)

I had tuned this Evo awhile back and it made 275 whp / 251 wtq on 91 oct, with the stock FMIC and stock cat.

Retuned it this time on 91 oct with the addition of the FMIC, Test Pipe, a COP and moving from a 2.75" DP to 3" and the car gained 40 whp / 36 wtq which was pretty amazing for the small changes.

Next up was the E85 tune and like always, huge gains!

+ 53 whp / + 69 wtq

Solid is E85 @ 28psi, dotted is 91 oct @ 24 psi:

Awesome! I know it was probably a huge PITA to put that together, but thanks! Any chance you have some mph/weights on any of them?

My car is the 3rd from the last graph and on that tune I did a 11.8-11.9 1/4 mile time w/ a 1.6 60ft, my car was on e85 and that was one of the first times that I had launched it in over a year with minimal launching experience

I don't tune many car bowlers but the 2006 RS with 402 / 403 did 11.4@120mph.

Yes thanks for putting it all together, I wish you had put it all in the other thread. Are your pulls in third or fourth gear on those runs?

None of the cars are a speed density or stand alone tune, right?

BTW, nice to see you around.

Second line in the OP says 3rd gear.

None of them are SD and most, if not all are stock motors.

Sorry, missed the reference to gear. Do you not dyno in 4th? That is part of the difference between your results and mine, at least on our dyno. Dan's graph was his final pull in 4th, which I'd guess is good for an additional 25 whp over a third gear run.

I dyno all cars in third for tuning and when I am finished I do a fourth gear run to verify everything and the safety of the tune.

Yes I do, I do not see a huge difference in peak HP numbers in 3rd and 4th. Of course the torque goes up because the car spools faster in higher gears.

I just completed a BBK-B tune on a built 2.3L. Made 510 whp in 3rd, 518whp in 4th. So 8 whp peak and the peak came earlier in 4th. It did make a good amount of peak torque more however.

On the stock turbo cars the peak horsepower is usually within 1-3whp in 3rd and 4th.

Dave, I wouldn't keep bringing up Dan's graph as that is not why I posted this thread at all. I apologize if you think that is why.

I figured since you mentioned being asked to post these in the other thread it was "the reason" even if it wasn't YOUR reason! Haha. I'm freaking glad you posted them and am glad to see them.

Have you ever looked at you parasitic multiplier for 2wd and 4wd in your dyno? The graph that calculates loss vs. Mph in the drivetrain? I'm asking because it's odd you power doesn't typically go up in 4th. I would say on our dyno decent gains from 3rd to 4th are typical rather than rare.

Today on an EVOX at 315 whp in third a switch to fourth put the car at 335 whp.

In third on our dyno Dans car makes maybe 375-380, if I had to guess.
