Not trying to highjack this thread but I am curious as to peoples opinions in this area. I am building a mivec 2.3 with .4 over pistons standard valve sizes. I will mostly be running e85, on a red. I am debating on getting a black though. Just can't decide. Going with the fp4r cams. Btw its a daily driver with a track day here and there. I pretty much have all the supporting mods for a black other than fuel and clutch. What yall think? Keep red or get a black.

i have a 2.3L with a fp black and ill tell you its the best combo ive ever had in a automobile to date.. the response is out of this world and the power is there throughout the powerband.
i would definitely get the fp black.. if not the black then the green. im not so much a fan of the red anymore.
Having run Black, Red and BBK Full I would tend to agree with this, assuming that the Green is close to the BBK. The response of the Red is just barely better than the Black, so there's really not much point. The Green/BBK gives up some power to the Red, but it's close enough to make the added response worth it over the Red IMO.
It was the original 64mm version. It made good power though. 440-460 whp depending on gear on the BR dyno with my current mods. When on stock block with stock head/intake/tb and Comp cams, it made 460 whp on DLL at 26 psi. All on 93. It was just too laggy for me.
very impressive man, nice numbers i bet that beast is one hell of a fun time to drive....so now i got a weird question for u, i know hp and gas mileage dont go hand in hand, but hows ur gas mileage with a double pump and 1200cc injectors, im sure tscomp dialed it good, but im assumin with highway speeds cruisin since you're on a black, that since its laggier then a red and stock turbos, that since your rpms arent close to spoolin up that you should be pullin good gas mileage on the highway. Now im impressed that he got your black to spool up about as quick as my 64 mm fp red. Shoot, 450 on 91 octane is enough fun for the street let alone almost 600 haha congrats on another good tune tscomp
