The Black for some odd reason seems picky about what it's used on. I get some that spool up exceptional and some that are substantially laggier than the Red's. I'd guess combination of parts. When we did the original back to back testing of the two, higher boost and better fuel than you are using, I found about 40 whp peak using the Black and believe that's about what Robert at FP expected based on the flow of the turbos.

Thanks for posting the information.
I was told the black is hard to tune on 91 octane and it was for that reason my friend went with a red. I need a turbo for road racing mostly, street, and rarely drag. I primarily run e85 but I want a good 91 tune as well.

What fuel will you be running for road racing? Will it see only E85 at the track?

we commonly see 430awhp and 380tq on the Green, Red and Black on the average pump gas car. I believe this is due to them sharing the same evo 9 hotside. Heat is the limiting factor in most cases. All that being said, if you're only going to run pump gas I highly recommend going with the faster spooling HTA Green. Go with the black if you have exceptional mods or high octane where you'll begin to see more power.

Keep in mind we've seen 500awhp/500tq on the HTA Green on a nice build with good fuel. That's on hell of a fun ride with it's considerably quicker spool. CLick here for details such as the dyno sheet and video http://www.mellonracing.com/index.ph...roducts_id=841

I don't think he did at 500/500 he sold the car rather quickly after we finished it up to help purchase a home if I remember correctly. Here's a video of it at 400awhp running mid to high 11's at ~ 116mph. I think this was on the stock turbo and e85. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvp8vQ-STmY

at 500/500 it should run low 11's at 125 area or 10's with good traction. It's a full weight car.

someone asked to see a overlay of a fp black and a green hta so here it is.. these are both 93octane cars and evo 9's so the mivec helps. i have evo 8 comparisons also and fp red as well if anyone wants to see.

if you want the boost logs i will supply them, but the cars both had 4 bars so u can see the boost curve in the chart below.

(both customers asked me to keep the tq down).

the fp black cars from Floridia
the fp green car is from chicago, IL

so depending on your location the quality of fuel varies. (that must be kept in mind)
