FP Red vs FP Black pump gas comparison

This is a comparison between my 64mm FP red vs 82 mm FP black on pump gas, both turbos were around 28 psi on these dyno pulls. As you can see no difference in spool. This comparison was done with the same car with the same mods, only thing I did was swap the turbos and tune

This is fairly consistent with what we have seen in the past. Is this a VIII or IX? Looks nice. Now go E85

this makes me think i should just skip the red if/when i do upgrade turbos so it leaves tons of room to grow

Good thread! I guess this verifies that once you go black you never go back! Lol. Looks like its either the hta green or black for a pumpgas street car depending on what type of powerband you want.

Very interesting data. If you don't mind me adding some information.....(if you do ask and I'll remove this post)

The Black for some odd reason seems picky about what it's used on. I get some that spool up exceptional and some that are substantially laggier than the Red's. I'd guess combination of parts. When we did the original back to back testing of the two, higher boost and better fuel than you are using, I found about 40 whp peak using the Black and believe that's about what Robert at FP expected based on the flow of the turbos.

Thanks for posting the information.

Correct David. Spool is usually 100rpm difference like above. However, Aaron and Robert when they tested the Red vs. Black saw 40whp difference at the same boost, timing, afr. Combo is everything though...
