MAP's Evo 8 & 9 Exhaust Manifold Testing / Dyno Results
It would be silly to put any aftermarket mani on a stock 9 turbo but if you were going to do one just do the short runner. Minimal if any loss in spool and it will add gobs of midrange. You can max out a turbo easily on the stock mani assuming good fuel so you won't gain much topend power.
If you are on pumpgas you might gain some topend though from efficiency. I'd still recommend the short runner.

I would argue that it's not that silly to do, especially if you go with the Short Runner. I can tell you from personal experience that the short runner manifold definitely adds some power to the midrange and top end. I can't say for sure how much because I don't have quite an apples to apples comparison, but I went from an 8 turbo with a stock manifold to a 9 turbo with the short runner manifold and added at least 50-60whp (conservative estimate). Most of the tests that I've see on going from an 8 turbo to a 9 show an increase of about 30whp/30wtq so take that for what it's worth. Also, my spool up is ridiculous!!
I assume you are on pump gas from your sig, on E85 or race gas you can max a turbo without a manifold easy.
Just visited MAP's site and don't see the short runner manifold anymore. I hope they're still in production or at least available to buy. I sent a PM to ask for pricing, hopefully they still have them.

We had of the previous version crack between runners where the anti-lag provisioning was for earlier models. We have since revised the design as to not include that and no cracking issues that I'm aware of

Can you elaborate on the tradeoffs on the short vs long runners?

Well it's all in the name really, the "long runner" has exactly that which has yielded more top end power in our testing in comparison to stock and the "short runner", the trade off there is spool characteristics as the latter two will perform better in that aspect.
Sweet!! im new to the world of the evo! and im planning on buying MAP's $900 long tube manifold to replace the previous owner's cracked-up megan racing manifold!
looks like it will complement a CBRD BBK full very nicly =)
