Evos use metric bolts, so a grade 8 does not apply. The bolts you want will be grade 10.9 or 12.9, though the 12.9 might be harder to find. It will be stamped on the head of the bolt. Any fastener store will stock at least to 10.9 if they are worth anything.

Sorry just noticed this, yes your local hardware store should stock these, Im assuming dude knows what hes talking about as the ones i have were stamped 10.9 im not sure where those are in relation to the grade 5 or 8s im used to hearing about but just inspecting them closely and torqing You can tell they are a great upgrade over the mushy stock ones which i thought were a grade 2 or equal.

Sorry for the delay guys, forgot to update this thread. Unfortunately BigT is correct, Justin's car didn't show much for gains and it has us a bit confused to say the least. Our only ideas are that the turbo (BBK Full) is maxed out and/or the cams (GSC S1) are holding the car back at this power level. Both of the previous tests for Evo 8 & 9 and Evo X were FP Black powered and not operating at their limits...

Yeah bummer.. I did gain some but not what we expected. Still though, the MAP manifolds are beautiful and I'd highly recommend one!

Any dynos of the short or long runners on an OEM VIII/IX turbo?

Just wondering which would be best for spool, and what the tradeoff is.

It would be silly to put any aftermarket mani on a stock 9 turbo but if you were going to do one just do the short runner. Minimal if any loss in spool and it will add gobs of midrange. You can max out a turbo easily on the stock mani assuming good fuel so you won't gain much topend power.

If you are on pumpgas you might gain some topend though from efficiency. I'd still recommend the short runner.
