It sounds like you need a little more finesse off the line, maybe try a little lower tire pressure with less boost (its really about trying different combinations)
On my street tires (235/40/18 Federal RS-R's) I used to pull low 1.7's

Nice man. Any significant weight reduction done? Is this on IX gearing?

Nope, absolutely no weight reduction...full weight MR (including spare tire and jack)
And yes, this was on the OEM 6spd box.

Congrats on the New PB!
The OEM 6Spd is holding up good I'm surprised you didn't have to shift into 5th.
Whats the specs on the wheels? Did you use spacers? Are you using the stock brakes up front?

Are the S2's drop in or do you need springs and retainers?

^ I ran 540whp for 1.5 years and didn't have a single problem

I would keep the stock motor as long as possible. I think a Black at 550whp would be an awesome stock motor setup as long as you keep tq below 425.

The IXs tend to be okay to 7-7.5k but every car is different. I always reccommend springs/retainers. I personally think the $300 investment is well worth not running the chance of dropping a valve and blowing a motor.
