Yeah, it's not much...but it's a start --- 284 hp on conservative tune

Today:

-Got new NGK iridium spark plugs; gapped em at 0.024ish"
-Zip tied everything that needed it (finally!) Not a must, but highly recommended because then I...
-Got my S-AFCII taken out (it's for sale now! Includes controller unit, plugs, mounting stay, and more)
-Got my Evo tuned! A basic 3rd gear street tune (done on a track of course )

Nothing serious, but now the Evo is much smoother overall than it was before, plus I got like 15+ more hp out of it! Only performance mods (that are important for this) are:

-Magnaflow Exhaust + cat delete
-Buschurr UICP
-Buschurr CAI + Short Ram
-And now a tune!!!

What do you guys think? I am going to put on a Tomei Evo 9 BOV (previous owner stuck a 1g DSM BOV on it. WHY WHY WHY?), but other than that I'm not really planning on building it any further. MAAAYBE put an Evo 9 turbo on later. Bear with me, I'm not extremely familiar with the tuning stuff but I have alot of friends that are knowledgeable and help me out.

You had a 1g DSM BOV on your evo because you have a 2003 VIII and those BOV sucked so the owner put the DSM bov on because the IX bov wasn't readily available at the time of his decision or maybe wasn't even out yet, Buschur used to recommend them from a upgrade over the stock VIII plastic bov, before people started using the ix and JDM ix bov in their evo's. Now you know " WHY, WHY, WHY?"

P.S. IF IT'S CRUSHED IT WILL HOLD HOLD JUST AS GOOD AS THAT SILLY OVERPRICED TOMEI BOV!

The Tomei is just an EVO IX DV with a "Tomei' sticker. I have tested one before, and its spring is just as strong as an IX DV's spring.

The 1g crushed is still considered one of the most solid DVs. Can't see the graph on my end btw, but 284hp sounds decent for the mods. I'm guessing ur not running anymore than 23psi or so. Enjoy it for now...with a couple more mods you'll break 300 easy!

my friend sold me the tomei BOV for $100 (it looks like its never been used, super shiny clean), so i figured why not lol

And yeah, it is at 1.5 bars, maybe a little more. Used the Mitsu gauge to help with the tuning...1.5 bars is...22 psi? Sounds about right lol

i don't believe the 1g bov in mine is crushed atm.

idk, i figured i'd rather get an evo 9 bov if i'm going to get a evo 9 turbo eventually.
