So I just got my AEM Cam Gears installed. I was out doing some tests. Here are the results.
+ = When looking at cam gear rotate clockwise
- = when looking at cam gear rotate counter clockwise
Red = 0/0
Blue = +2/+2
Green = -2/-2
Yellow = -4/-4
When I went to +4/+4 the car was almost undriveable.

AEM 5bar Map
GM AIT
FIC 1100cc
Walbro 255 HP(moded)
Evo9 Turbo
AEM WRX Intake -- Jerry Rigged but looks good(no maf because SD)
Nesei LICP/UICP
Titek O2

I also did not make any AFR or Timing or Boost changes during the tests. All tests were within 15min of each other. Same road, and exact same conditions. Here are the results, feel free to comment.

Interesting that the Yellow run had the most boost pressure out top but the worst power... You might see some gains by turning the boost down a couple psi and trying to get it to hold better out top. Thanks for posting this up though! Always been curious about the real world results from cam gears

I am sure I need to make some timing changes, and I will be doing more testing over the weekend. This is just the first of many tests.

Wow! Nice gains you are making some good powed now. What's next on the mod list for you?
Next mods are going to be a FMIC. After that I woud like to do some S2's and Kiggly Springs.
Before I do those things, I am going to repeat the test and with each degree change I will adjust my tune. It looks like the -4/-4 has a lot in it and it holds 2psi more to redline. Which means I should be able to pickup a lot more power in that area. I just need to find the power.

Nice I did the GSC beehive springs but similar you will enjoy the s2's. There's a shop selling a set of S2's near you for cheap right now if you are interested let me know and I will PM you the info.

so did the 0/0 settings match the oem cam gears? regardless, let your engine tell you what it prefers!

So the 0/0 setting matched the OEM gears 100%. Double checked before installing cam gears.Originally Posted by Aby@MIL.SPEC

I still think the intercooler if fisting me a little.
This weekend I will run the tests again just to verify the results. I do like that I am holding more boost to redline on the -4/-4.

Wow...nice. You're hitting almost 30psi on stock headstuds, what Psi is safe to run before you need to use aftermarket?

More boost doesnt always mean more power on the stock turbo...i will try to dig up my cam timing sweeps on oem cams.....not certain if i was on a oem turbo @ the time thou..

Its interesting on the -4 run that despite the richest AFR it held the most boost , Im really not sure if this is the only reason, but it appears that the engine made more power mostly by being directly affected by AFRs.
It seems that to see which is really the best setting you will need to adjust the fuel and timing map on each setting , otherwise whichever setting you tuned it on (0) will get the best results.
