Buschur Built/Tuned 2.3L

In April of this year, the block decided to pop. Catastrophic would be an understatement. Luckily got a bare block from Mike @ AWD. Got the car back on Aug 8. Put around 700 miles on the block.

Finally got the final tune on the car today. 280 miles round trip and I'm exhausted to say the least. Not to mention my ears ringing after sitting in the car.

460whp & 404tq should be around 520whp & 456tq on a Dynojet assuming a 13% difference. All on 93 pump gas @ a little over 28psi. Wish E85 was around in my area.

Buschur Built 2.3L Shortblock
Buschur Stage 3 Head
Buschur UICP & LICP
Buschur Race FMIC
Buschur 3" TBE /w Bullet Muffler
Buschur Air Intake + Filter (MAF)
GSC S2 Cams
Skunk2 Intake
Skunk2 68mm Throttle Body
Full Race ProStock Exhaust Manifold
FP Black (non BB)

That's a lot for pump gas on that dyno, great job.

Nice Results man that BR2.3L getting it done! 400wtq at 4400rpm thats the sweet spot on the streets. Whats your Intentions with the car ? Drag,Street, Road Racing? Also no need to Convert MD to DJ let the Results speak for themselves. I'm not going Question the Drivability of the Tune Since DB tuned the car dudes a Master at what he does, but what are you impressions on the TB? does it feel like stock as far as pedel goes? Also I asume your on a BR Double Pumper?

Primarily a AutoX car with a little bit of Road Racing thrown in. Next year I need to get to work on a front splitter/undertray setup. Not sure if I want to go the Voltex route (easiest) or look into doing something custom.

As to the throttle body, it's actually hard to say. The reason I say is that I only ran the stock TB on the 2.0 and it felt ok. The Skunk2 TB on the 2.3 feels much much more responsive to user input. I'm not sure if it's the TB itself, the 2.3L or the combination. But at this point, I can say I'm very happy with the feel.

Just running a single Walbro pump since it's only on pump gas. If only E85 could make it's way up towards me.

Feels amazing. The 2.3 really brings a lot to the table that isn't there with the 2.0. Would never do a 2.0 ever unless I was doing a pure drag car.

^^Its not the Throttle body, its the BR 2.3........ Super responsive because the compression is 11:1. Congrats on the results! Should be a super fun street car.

I really highly doubt he is running 11:1 CR especially on pump gas....

OP-
nice numbers for that setup on pump gas on that particular dyno. that thing would scream with some e85

You got that right...wow. That 2.3L spools the black right up...looks almost like fp green 2.0L spool up. You chose a great combination....manifold looks great and the car in general looks real clean. Nice work

Not really. The nearest station is about 25-30 miles away. Just not an effective solution in my area.
