I ask because my current setup drops from 30psi to 23-24psi... i have a 25psi and preloaded without cutting threads. I know the 9turbo runs out of steam up top, but just wondering.
Stock IX wastegate with no preload. MIVEC can go a long way in how the boost holds. Doesnt always mean the boost makes power though.

So we just put the JMFabrications O2 dump on Jason's car and went back to the dyno. I could tell on the street that it definitely felt snappier (as well as louder...but thats what I like) than before even at 24.5psi by the Tru-boost.

This is what it did-

WOW, global 30whp/30 ft lbs for $320.00? Not bad at all.

Up top at 28.5psi where it had made 405whp before it now makes 421/377-

Aaron

The stock IX turbo is known for exhibiting a relatively significant level of boost taper. However, the type of wastegate used, and/or the amount of WG preload employed should not have much, if anything to do with taper.

Granted, your turbo tapers as fitted with the 25# WGA, but it would also taper equally if fitted with the FP 18# actuator, the stock actuator, or even a Forge actuator. Boost taper and wastegate preload are not interrelated. Or, at least they shouldn't be based on my way of thinking. Maybe I don't quite understand your question to Aaron, or else I may be totally wrong due to my limited understanding of the phenomenon of boost taper.
