evo 9 turbo on steroids

stock cams and nothing but 93octane. owner said he had a freak car i guess he was right.

Fuel: Straight 93oct
Location: NJ/NY
Boost: 30.3psi

Mods:

ETS intercooler
BR UICP
AMS LICP
EPM 02 dumptube
BR ported TB
BR ported intake manifold
BR ported exhaust-mani and turbo hot side.
BR maf pipe and filter
BR bullet exhaust, test pipe and dp
1000cc precision injectors
Walbro 255 fuel pump
EBC with the GM type plug and play deal (ecu boost / 3 port)
Aquamist HSF-6 Methanol injection kit (turned off)
Exedy twin HD
Zeitronix ZT-2 wideband
JDM map sensor
Crushed stock BOV
and tons of lightweight mods & weight shaved off rotating assembly

Deduct 2hp/2tq from the first graph due to weight i missed. 2nd graph has proper weight reduction.

Up next is meth injection activated.. my personal goal is 470.. we will see. car is having a hard time maintaining boost uptop as it is with 100% wgdc & actuator preloaded to the max.

I would like to say thanks to Tom for tuning my evo. Tom can be easy to work with, but don't be fooled!! My evo contains the ability to upset the calmest of people. Not to mention the countless technical difficulties like my laptop hd skipping due to the G forces created by my car lol. All and all Tom's a cool guy and his ability to extract power from evo's speaks for its self.

I will be out of the country for about 10days so the meth tuning will have to wait a bit.

You never know, I may have a few tricks to extract just a few more whp out of this set up.

Over 30 psi on 93 octane with stock turbo/cams... Brave. I hope you have some $$$ set aside for a built motor. Maybe a 2.4L since your block will not survive if it lets go at that power.

Why does the chart say DynoJet at the top if it was a VD chart?

not with 380tq. its fine.. dont plan on bringing the tq past 400 on meth will shoot for hp over tq for safety. (unless customer wants tq)

because its using a dynojet calculation to build the graph based on RPM and logger seconds.

run it on your car you'll see its a very accurate prog.

thanks for the kind words everyone!

Put cams and run e85 and you'll be about 450 if not more!

470 just by adding meth to the equation?

Great Results! I too am a little worried that 30 psi may run a chance of pre-det

On my 35R I saw over 100hp difference when adding meth when I had the 35R but the tune never got finished so not sure if 70 on a stock is doable, if it is Tom can do it. Even though he's got stock cams everything is ported so he's moving some air for sure, that's gotta be helping. Buschur's porting has been proven to increase power by 25-30hp and 30-40tq if not more on STOCK turbo cars when tuned. I'd be willing to bet that jump right before 4k is all that extra air moving. Match that up with everything else ported and I'd say it isn't a freak car but a well put together one

All I can say is to expect most people to be skeptical. There has to be something that isn't being considered as to what is causing the numbers you're getting as there usually is in cases like this. What was the temp outside when the car owner was doing these pulls? The vehicle weight in VD seems awfully low. Not trying to be a d!ck but I hesitate to believe there is something magical enough about this car for these numbers to be totally legit. If I'm wrong then I guess I need to start praying to the Evo gods for more ponies!

maybe who knows. probably not though, because the boost is going to taper hard regardless and timing isn't gonna make enough difference to cover that spread.

tunes setup so it can handle the spike. also 380tq is nothing. its fine.

ya it should gain decent he has big jets and its 100% meth injection no mix. meth was one of my favorite mods when i had a dsm.. biggest bang for buck you could do to the car.. turned 92 into 100oct for me almost.

the ported parts definitely help.

Also is the vehicle an Evo 9 or an 8 with an Evo 9 turbo? I'm assuming the EPM housing is a dump housing!?
