Aaron,
To answer your question I've had two salesman leave in that time frame, we combined our retail and wholesale team into one larger sales team to improve our customer experience, and I moved my marketing manager out of that role into a more sales focused position to help pick up the slack. We also started using a project collaboration tool to better communicate with service customers throughout their project.
Regardless, none of the above would have played a part in your most recent transaction. I certainly understand how frustrating it can be to find out that a part you've ordered is on backorder, but its something that is (as much as I hate it) out of my control. We generally have about $400k in inventory at any given time, however, as I'm sure you can imagine with the plethora of parts available on the market that barely scratches the surface. Our goal is to be a one stop shop for our customers, and in order to do that (without having the bankroll of say Summit Racing) we have to drop ship just like everyone else. I agree that it is frustrating that we have items on our site that may end up being on backorder, and I agree it sucks that it takes a day or two for a manufacturer to respond to our purchase order informing us of the situation, but I honestly don't know of a better way to do it...and believe me I've tried.

I have said it before. **** happens... I fully accept this. I accept the fact items will be out of stock, and that shops drop ship.... just be upfront about it, and don't take 3 days to inform me something is on back order.
I wish you the best of luck -> get that RX7 going so my guy has something to run against this year at the PG event

That's the plan! What's your guy running?
We always are sir, your order was placed on a Sunday, the PO was send by my staff on Monday, and it wasn't until Tuesday that Beatrush informed us of the backorder
I'll check my emails... but I think it went... order placed Sunday 9/11... I didn't get notice of back order till weds the 14th. Keep in mind, I even got a confirmation that my order had been processed on monday or tuesday with no notice of the back order .....
my polish math:
Monday= day 1
Tuesday = day 2
Weds = day 3
It's over with, so let's focus on the future
That's the plan! What's your guy running?

I've had some crappy experiences with MAP in the past ive been buying products from them from the first year they opened,
I will never go anywhere else because customer service is what exists after a sale and they've always had that.
NO shop has 100% record of product and service always being perfect, some actually give a crap when it isnt though.
Chris always made every effort to convey his buisiness approach through his employees and its awesome to see him continue to push it to another level. Im excited to drop off a block this saturday when Chris himself is making the effort to be there,once again customer service. MAP isnt even open on saturdays!

All I know is I'm from MN and stationed in Cali and that's all the Evo guys talk about out here. All my buddies get ported by map. All I have to say is when I get back to Minnesota. I'm going straight to map for my 2.3 build. So be ready for the fall/winter of '13 Chris.
I am charm in here simply because I feel that it is appropriate now. I have had a long term relationship with MAP since they first opened. Ordered many things from them and finally had them do a full engine/car build earlier this year. I had tremendous amount of troubles initially, but further into the build, MAP set up their new application called "Base-camp" that helped with the project management of there projects going on. I consider myself the "Ginnie pig" of this new application, but with all honesty it was the best thing they could have ever done. Months went by and I felt like we were getting no where, but eventually everything turned around for the better. the car turned out phenomenal. I am very happy with the end results even though Chris, MAP team, and myself had many struggles along the way. I have just finished breaking in my newly built motor and I couldn't be happier with how smooth it runs even for a base-map on 1680cc injectors.
I feel that MAP is taking the appropriate steps to make them as a company, better. I hope that my experience will help yield from new results from MAP and lessen the chances of experiences like mine happening again.
Chris, I thank you for your efforts even though sometimes I felt I was a no one. You guys have really made a good turn over the last few months. I can't wait to see what my motor puts down next week and I hope to keep a civil relationship in the future. You will always be the "go-to" for my DSM.
