Normally on 92 I max out at 28psi and 10-11* at 8k...thats on a good breathing setup. On 93 I can usually push another 2-3psi and at least 11-12* and sometimes more all at the same time. What cast exhaust manifold?

I've been since checking out your 3586 92 threads and they all look incredible. That's crazy you notice that much of a difference between 92 and 93! it's almost like the difference between 91 and 92.

I have a HAFE cast kit that Mr. Brown is working his magic on for me.

The castings are all knocked down on the head and the bowls have some nice work done to them, so it should respond a bit better to the S3s.

It helps I am pretty good at saving and cataloging all the tunes I do and logs 91 octane is not all the same though. ACN (Arizona, California, Nevada) 91 is like our 89 here. Midwest 91 like Kansas is like our 92.

So was this a HTA 86 the whole time or a 6235?

First it was a FS635 then it went to the 3586 as far as we know, it was used but looks right. Definitely 2 different turbos.

I read both threads and at one point it was an unknown. Then I never saw a definite change of Turbo. The first post in this thread says 6235. So it was confusing.

Very good to know, thanks for the response. Speaking of response, how does it feel on the street?

the 2.4 definitely helps on the low end. as far as spool goes, the 2.4 also helps the 86 come to life. boost comes on pretty quick for a turbo this size.

How much spool will you lose by switching from s2 to s3?

Im between the s2 and s3 cam for my 2.3 w/ hta86 build right now. Im loving where you hit full boost on the s2

you'll probably lose a few hundred. i was told that gsc's newest cams are better. best of both worlds - fast spool and higher top end power - spool i'm told is unaffected between the s2 and the newest style gsc cams.
