VIII tuned by spec ops

Got the VIII retuned the other night by spec ops and all i can say is wow. The car was previously tuned by a shop in Atlanta and in short just ran like crap. The car made 350 whp and 309 tq on a dyno jet . After some minor changes and about a hour of tuning the difference is huge. The car gained 38 horse power and 33 torque over the old tune. But the best part of the deal is i no longer have the hesitation issues i had before and the car does not shutter when i let the rpms fall. The car defiantly has a lot more in her but mat wanted to keep the tune on the conservative side to protect what’s left of my clutch. Mat and the guys over there did a great job on the tune and stayed late to get the job done.

Expect better numbers after the twin disk and trans build

looks good, i just got an evo that was tuned at shop in NC and same problem. As soon as i let the rpms fall it stalls and almost dies. I need a good tune for sure.

I installed the spool up kit before the tune was fixed and it did fix my brake up issue around 6K but i also put new plugs in and droped the gap down to .023 from .028 at the same time.

The car spools great and i love shutting the car off with the hood up (you can still hear the turbo spining ) I did some 3rd and 4th gear pulls today and she hits peak boost around 3400.

May I ask why you need a tranny build? Is it going bad or something? Twin will help some. Nice #'s and great job Mikey or Matt whoever tuned the car.

It grinds a little going from 2nd to 3rd under load some times. And 5th gear has a bad vibration between 2000-3200 rpms when the car is under load. Mat was the tuner.

Thanks for posting your results Lance! The old tune was so **** poor(stock map sensor settings weren't all right, fuel trims were +15% off, global fuel settings not set properly, etc) that I flashed my base to the car and the base pull above was our baseflash vs our final tune. I wanted to lower the tq due to trans issues and get some more up top.

Enjoy the car brother and can't wait to get the trans issues worked out and a better clutch in there.

-Matt

Wow I never thought that the previous tune was that Bad, I owned that car before thisisboz and I told him I was surprised that the tuner he went to couldn't get better numbers, I am glad that Spec Ops did a much better job!
