Could the possible water attraction be where this myth of corrosion could come from. Improperly stored or mixed ethanol allowing for more water content then normal hence rusting fuel components.

when I bought e99 here in florida I saw them ad the 1% methanol. if you get water from measurements wouldnt that be from its hydroscoic nature? I tried to get them not to ad the methanol. But he said it was illegal for him to sell 100% ethanol.

Well I know E85 and C85 you can leave in your tank. Q16 you can leave it in your tank for a long period of time. I was told to take out the Q16 after you get done using it. Is this true?

How much of that do you still have left? Both my 55g drums are still full lol

I hate to say this but I agree with Buschur, for the price and consistency E99 is the way to go!

It would be one hell of a drive for you, you would have to drive down from Atlanta to lake city Florida to get it. I think the place is called First coast biofuels in lake city Florida.

Google it

I switched to Ethanol to get AWAY from paying 15 dollars a gallon for c16.

This is the reason I have a Vipec for 4D Ethanol compensation and a GM ethanol content sensor. woop. Because I'll save ~12 dollars every gallon I use.

You can get E98 delivered to your door. It ends up being about 6 dollars a gallon. Thats my plan. Mix some e98 with some 92 or 100 octane non-leaded... let her rip!

Its corrosive. Just because it hasn't destroyed your fuel system yet doesn't mean it's not corrosive.

There is a place local to me that sells drums of 85% ethanol 15% Sunoco 112 for $4.60 a gallon.

That's insane prices for just a 4% increase. I really wish e85 would make it's way here I'd be a happy camper..

You could mix your E98 with unleaded 100 octane fuel and end up with a higher octane than what you get at the pump with standard E85. That or I run E90 or E98 straight if it's hot enough outside. More octane Almost 100% Ethanol.

This paper might be worth looking at.

They test blends of ethanol in various percentages along with some other cool stuff.
