Evo 9 Dyno results from IPS Motorsports
So a few months back i got my evo 9 tuned at IPS Motorsports. Basically these are the results of that tune. I wanted to get everyone's take on it to see if the numbers should be were they are at thanks
mods
turbo tuff rods
manley pistons
kelford 272 cams
percision 880cc injectors
port polish head with 1mm over vavles
magnus intake
c.o.p ignition
500 hp intercooler
exhaust
speed density tune on aem ems ecu. 93 octane
stock evo 9 turbo with ported manifold
i am sure there is more that i am missing but it basically has about every bolt and a decent lower end build I just feel that it should have made more power. Tell me what you guys think and please be realistic about it

That's what I thought too. Boost is set at 24 psi. Running around 10.8 to 11.2 on the wide band. Which I thought was rich. I still get around 21 to 22 mpg if I am easy on it. IPS motorsports tOld me of I want to see 400 I would have to go e85 or bigger turbo and injectors. Which didn't makeuch sense either because I've seen guys getting 450+ on almost the same build. so I guess whe I get the money together I will have to take it to bushcur and have to tune gone through again

I'm in the same boat, although here in SA we are running on 95 pump fuel with a 6Ron octane booster. My car is also low on power but the load it gives is up to par.154wkw on 1.2 bar boost and 185 wkw on 1.7 bar boost.335 NM and 436 NM wheel torque. This is on stock motor and turbo.I do have a boost leak though, going to get it fixed when my aftermarket licp arrives.

srry about the numbers man, but im kinda glad u did this, i took my car there for 60K service and had thought about goin back for a tune, but def not now, ur numbers def seem off, but yea bushcur or tscompusa, im goin with tscomp for the simple fact of real world conditions, neways, u guys go to ne car meets or nething, im located in fairborn and the evo population is extremely low here

^^be prepared, Buschur's dyno reads pretty low in comparrison to dynojets. Your actual numbers may be lower but you can be pretty sure he will help you improve. Honestly tho ur current numbers aren't that far off. Most stock turbo people dont have the magnus manifold or ported head, which will help in giving you a bit more power, but at the end of the day, its still a pump gas stock turbo setup. 24psi isn't going to get you there either. It's very hard to hit 400whp on a stock turbo pump gas setup. On the bright side tho, it doesn't look like that magnus mani has taken much spool away from you. I think it's a good idea to take the car to a tuner who knows evos well...you should be able to squeeze a little more out of it.

Thanks for all the replies, I would like to keep the tune in real world condition. I daily drive the car so that is pretty important to me. As for spool up it really doesn't have any problems above 2500rpm or so i think it having the stock turbo helps that. I will have to check into tscompusa i am pretty new to the evo game but have some experience in building honda's and nissan's. Also I want to make it clear that i am not bashing IPS motorsports, They did get my car idling right and better mpg. I think before i go to get my car tuned again i will try to get a FP red turbo and maybe keep the injectors the same

Those injectors are good for pump gas and a red/green turbo.
Are you running bigger intercooler piping or a ported/bigger o2 housing? Those 2 mods right there would give you a big jump if you want to stay with 24psi. With running a bigger intercooler you probably have the piping?
27psi though would get you in the 390's-400 range. I would bet on it.
