This car is from california and not sure what gas station he uses, but i imagine they mix with ethanol over there. this car made good power for its mods and fuel.

mods:

injen intake and full intercooler piping
buddy club cams intake 272, exhaust 280
fic 1000cc injectors
walbro 255
megan 02 housing
megan downpipe w/ qtp exhaust cutout
1st gen. FP green
Blitz Dual SBC Spec R Dual SBC Spec-R Twin Solenoid
3" intercooler... brand unknown

pretty sure we are not doing e85 yet on this car because i advised him its safer on a 3 port so i can really control the boost/ power curve. he didnt know enough about his Blitz unit, so i was scared to continue it for e85.

so here are the 91 results and ill update it with the e85 once we get them.

Looks like the cutout is doing alot of work here.

E85 results aggressive vs tame. both on e85 below:

The blue line is a non conservative (regular) tune producing lots of torque, while the red line is keeping the torque
within 370-380tq for safety of the stock internals

What boost level?

This looks great especially for 91oct. When he does get the 3-port it would be nice to see his e85 results. It almost looks as though it spools like a stock turbo.

i believe around 29-30psi when i asked him:

Usage for vehicle: drag, autox, road course? what type of tune do you want?:

he said drag.. so

i don't know what it holds up top though.. from what i could see, the blitz unit was acting like a mbc.. it would go up then taper off. (just assuming this based on the load curve & actual curves produced.. it acted like a mbc)

he had no way of changing the taper or curve either, that's why i said not recommended to tune e85 like this.. it would of ended up making way to much torque on e85 downlow. so he has a grimmspeed 3 port on the way now he ordered through me.

Thank you Tom, been really happy with my 91oct tune. Found out i have a xs power intercooler. Yea, the 76 gas stations contain 10% ethonal. Cant wait to see some e85 numbers

Is that 29-30 psi on 91 octane? If so isn't that a little high for 91 octane?

no. not for what the car is being used for. your 91oct may vary though.. so you cant expect to do this on every 91oct gasoline out there. this has 10% ethanol in it, which is probably more equiv to a 92oct with no additives.

when tuning, the car seemed very knock resistant.

Wow good numbers. Looks like a smooth power band. Tom what would be the difference in power with the same set up but an Evo 9 turbo?

i don't know to be honest with you. i would need to know how much the stock 9 turbo does vs the fp green old school at the same boost.

maybe 40whp less?

Tom I live in the northeast and run 93 oct. I think most of the gas around my area have 10% ethanol so would the gas have a little bit more octane?

Good job.

Tom, just so you know, when they add 10% ethanol, its to get the gas to the require octane ie 91oct. So really the gas is like 89 or 90, then they add the 10% E to bring it up to 91oct.

not more octane, but more knock resistant since the ethanol will cool the charge more.

ok ya i wasn't thinking that way. i was thinking 91 + 10% ethanol. It will still help in that case, but not as much as i initially thought.

Thanks Jay.

I've been running 30+ psi for a couple years now on Cali 91. Nothing special, and can be done by anyone who spends the time to do it right.

ok here's the e85 results of this car. The blue line is a non conservative (regular) tune producing lots of torque, while the red line is keeping the torque
within 370-380tq for safety of the stock internals.

We also dropped torque a bit on the 91 tune to be safer as well. I will try a few more things yet with the car, and make the torque curve alittle more
linear down low around 4K and see if i cant get the HP to increase to match the blue line, minus all the early torque. I should be able to.
