Highest Mileage over 500whp?

Hey guys,

Got the car back from Moore Automotive yesterday.

Had slapped a PTE 6266 on it with full bolt ons and 272 cams. Made an impressive 513/376. Is this the highest mileage evo with that type of power you all have seen?

How long will she last? Lets conversate!

And GO....

should last a long time if the tune was done right. 376tq is well within the safe zone.
how's your compression?

I didnt speak with Chris (Tuner) about it. He mentioned last time the compression test was done, around 150k, it was normal.

I'm at 165k and I'm about to throw in the 6466, if the torque is managed correctly it shouldnt excelerate the wear

^^^lol

As long as a compression/leak down test is done before hand, mileage doesn't really matter for the most part. There's no way I'd pull apart a 150k mile engine to build it if it had good results with the comp./leakdown test

I just tested my 165k mileage engine and the leakdown showed 7% in Cyl 1,2,4 and 15% in Cyl 3. We could hear it escaping from the exhaust side. I planned to take off the head to install a fresh headgasket, install gsc 5041 valvetrain, gsc VALVE SEALS and h11 headstuds along with the gsc s2 cams. Otherwise 15% is still within spec and my motor runs hard.

The extra power is harder on the rod bearings more than anything else. Asking 150k+ mile rod bearings to take that abuse is the X factor in this equation. Doesn't mean they WILL fail, you are just improving the odds of a failure. Hope it lasts for years man.

Got ya! Will scan it here in a few!

Thanks for all the input guys. I am hoping it lasts too. Before I approached this situation, I accepted the fact that it has a higher chance of taking a dump.

I will keep this thread updated!

The WHP isn't going to kill it, its the max torque and torque curve that are going to dictate its longevity.

Thats what I have been hearing. Well see how she does. 3 pulls on it so far, not including the dyno pulls, and knock on wood still hanging in there.
