I just got tuned by Christian from Pure Drive Performance.
The car feels awesome and is now safe to drive the way it was meant to be.
Car is 04 RS, weighs about 3060lbs according to the scale I used.
Mods are very minimal.
Drop-in filter
3inch downpipe
3 inch STM aluminum exhaust
Hallman MBC- 20-21 psi
91octane
I am very happy with the results. I do not want crazy power, just a safe and reliable tune.

 

very nice for minimal mods you have and I hear lots of positive reviews about Christian's tuning.

 

I am very happy. He took his time and perfect HIS tune. The previous tune(not sure who tuned it) was pretty unsafe.
I live an hour away from him so I drove to him, he did a boost leak test, looked over the car, and did the road tune.
He is also very reasonably priced

 

Very minimal mods but great power. I thought rs evo 8s were around 2900lbs?

 

Not sure about that or exactly how accurate the scale was.

The car has the light STM aluminum exhaust and is missing the rear crash beam due to the JDM rear, so that helps with weight a bit.

Mike's Evo RS is pretty sweet! Very low miles, clean interior, exterior and engine bay. I love the RS model. It's funny, because I love it for the features it doesn't have, like power door locks/windows, ABS, firewall mat, etc! It feels different. Plus his aluminum exhaust has such an amazing sound!

Tune went really well. His previous tune was strange. We're guessing the previous owner had returned it back to "stock" but didn't retune it. Turns out there are ARP head studs, so... who knows.

Anyhow, it feels great and I love that Mike is happy with the new power. There's definitely more power, but I like Mike's mindset. He wants to keep it at 21 psi and enjoy the pi$$ out of it!

I'm sure we'll get him to mod the heck out of it and run E85 soon enough. But for now, enjoy this gem of an Evo!!!

BTW, the weight posted on the VD is with Mike and me in it. I'm guessing Mike is around 185 and I'm bulked/hulked up for winter weighing in at 215+! So that's how I got the weight.

 

I will definitely contact you for parts when the time comes for more mods.
The RS is just awesome, I love how basic and raw it is.
