Aaron,
How would the GSC R2 do on this car, dont see you guys using much of the R2's and also care to post up the evoscan log of the dyno pull like you have done in the past? its awesome where this thing is making power at!! what stopped you from going to 40ish psi ?

I use R2s every chance I get. This motor and head is 4 years old so it predates the R2. It would make more power under the curve and spool faster since they are meant for this exact build. The customer didnt want to g higher than 37psi since the crankshaft is OE and the whole mess is old and well worn in.

If you would prefer to answer via private message in order to keep the thread on topic, I understand. Why do you prefer the R2s over the S2s and S3s? I know that TSCOMP did some tests where there was nearly zero increase of lag and only more top end in a back-to-back test between the S2s and S3s. Seeing the R2s fall in between each of these cams, I figured the S3s would still be preferred.

R2s are 12.1mm lift and the secret is the ramp rate. Each cam has its place, the S2 is smaller turbos and lower powerbands (8500 and under and/or big motor), the S3 is for smaller motors and over 9000, the R2 is for big motor/big turbo but under 9000.

The R2 isnt really between the S2 and S3 its more along side the S3.

Excellent explanation. I will send you one question via private message in order to maintain the integrity of the thread.

Page 2 highlights it, they list 4 and 5 as well but as near as I have found in JDM CAPS its just the 6.
Do you use the IX 5th as well?

Excellent power out of this car on fairly low boost. How much further do you think you can push this setup if you refreshed the motor and kept the Eagle rods? 850awhp pushing it?

Yes IX 5th is technically the Ultimate Ratio box...some people use the 8 5th for mileage reasons. Theoretically this motor can do 850 but it wont ever see more than it is at. There are plans for an SLR2.2 and a Super 99.

Do you think the super 94/99 is a good for a twinscroll setup with the 2.2 LR ? I'd be interested in this setup maybe after some dyno results

Havent tested it in a twin scroll yet (will happen before too long) and I only have one 99 car on the road. The results from it are extremely promising.

Glad to see some eagle rods being pushed to the limit.
