Wow, I've never heard of doing that before. That's interesting and scary at the same time. Nothing on the tune has to be changed if I do that to compensate for the higher boost? I would feel very uneasy.

At the same time, I really want to go speed density + 3 port now. Sounds like I'm leaving a lot left over for two simple mods.

I would hope to trap higher than that as 126pmh is what I trapped on 2.0 + FP Red + HKS 272. I trust what you see here though. I appreciate you taking the time to respond!

Thanks!
It depends on your fueling if you have a lot of room. and a wideband gauge in the car. But that's what I do when i go to the track. Ill just crank the mbc up higher and higher each pass.

With a 3 port you wont have to though.

Tell Devin you want hybrid boost or 3 port alone and speed density and he will get you fixed up. I vote hybrid boost, because then you can use both the mbc and 3 port. He knows how to do that also. The MBC will make the car spool a little quicker then just a 3 port by itself on a evo 8.

At the same time yes i would go to a larger injector to be safe also. something 1250cc + around there. a FIC 1450cc would do the job just fine with room to grow.

No problem. Good luck with the car. As long as its fun on the street thats all that matters though. that graph doesnt show much. all that graph shows is, what the car made on that dyno not on the street. it is making more HP on the street in colder more condensed air

replace the bov for a Tial Q also when doing speed density. Make sure the SD intake is nice and big also with a big filter.

Old setup
Just for comparisons sake since spool seemed to take a hit on my new setup, here's what my 2.0, HKS 272, stock head/IM/TB looked like:

DYNOJET #

Lost about 400rpm

FWIW, here's one. The top end was jumpy due to clogged injector and broken spark wire connector.

Is this your car with the setup in your signature?

If so, that is same numbers except I was on a mustang dyno whereas that graph shows a dynojet. I would be around 500-510 whp on dynojet.

I'd say that my car is right where it should be then considering the outdated mods.
