boost(why not more?), what cams are you running? you should be running a ic upgrade also with the lower ic pipe. lastly, this is on a dyno dynamics.

I bought the car used so obviously i dont know the whole story on it....
I personly had it rebuilt, the turbo kit, inake, and the exhuast....
The cam gears are noticeably aftermarket. Not sure about the actual shafts...

What's a boost radio?

If you're not familiar with what's going on with the motor, you either need to get your hands dirty, and do a lot of reading, or get that car to a shop. You should definitely be running more than 19.5psi on any turbo. Stock or upgraded.

No upgraded IC? Its possible the tuner is seeing some kind of knock but even with a stock IC I can't see that with such low boost on that kind of turbo. I'd ask the tuner what his/her concerns are about adding more boost.

Edit: NVM. Does the car also not have an upgraded fuel pump? That's another easy one right there in that the VIII's don't have as good a fuel pump stock as the IX's do but even with that still you should be able to add more boost.

What does an Evo do on that dyno when bonestock? Or any other known performance application. Also most turbos dont make good power at low boost, the 30R and 35R typically can gain 100whp from 19psi to 23psi.

Way too low of boost. Get it retuned at a proper boost level and youll make more power

I am guessing the was done at Mase Engineering if you are in Jax and it was a Dyno Dynamics...

He is a pretty good tuner, but if something isn't right with the car, he is not going to sit there and troubleshoot it for you during the tuning appointment...

Ya man if u got tuned at mase u should take ur business else where there's plenty of tuners willing to tell u what u need, if it was a Honda that's what mase is about, but u need more boost, check to see it u have a upgraded fuel pump, u shoul be able to get 400hp conservative tune or close to it

all the above, plus he need to check the health of the motor via compression test then proceed with turning up boost. Guys we all know here a healthy car with mods done correctly will make good power even on low boost. It could be the motor wasn't built right, could have a crazy boost leak, stock FMIC probably heat soaking like crazy etc just saying. I suggest after fixing the car with whatever issues you may be having, get a tuner that deals with Evo on a regular basis.
Why do we take your car to a tuner that tunes honda? I am confused with that one .

man i gotta turn my boost up. i am in the same boat as the op. used car some kind of garret 30, injectors, pump, hks 272, 180 psi in every cyl. and a aftermarket cooler. i tune turbo ls and subies and have had the wideband confirm my fueling is good. just have'nt turned the wick up past 19-20. if this is indeed a fact i am gonna rip it.

^^ He has a point eve at 19.5 psi this car should be doing a bit more then 286whp. Seems to me like the car was tuned with little to no timing at all. I pulled 315whp on a mustang dyno stock IX with S2 cams and ebay intercooler 91oct. I know this car should be doing more. Id have the compression checked. I have seen fresh built motors with low compression. We all know that putting an Evo engine together is more then just slamming pistons and rings. Their are lots of clearances and tolerances that need to be correct. Not saying OP didn't do it correctly but that fact he is here asking why his car is not making power, leads me to think he is a bit wet behind the ears when it comes to Evo's.
