as long as the power remains over 550whp you should be able to do a 132mph trap or so 1/4.

The stock evo 9 gears will make it 1/8 pretty good, but will hurt your 1/4 a little.

The rev limit is at 8500 and that should be around 128-130 MPH i would think in 4th. and the car is still on a ACT street disc which i can tell is on its way out. I'm surprised its holding up this well lol

I already have an exedy twin HD in my garage. And i'm debating on doing a 4.11 FD while the trans is out too, although i hear some people say they don't like the 4.11 FD with the evo 9 1st and 2nd gear because it makes the gears too long.

i know jacks says they specifically don't use the evo9 1st gear and switch to the 8 for any trans using 4.11

A 4.11 and a 2.0 will slow the car down unless its making big power.

Once the car is moving the 4.11 makes the car more civilized to drive .

Gets better mileage, cruising at 80mph is 3000rpm or so.

Decide on what tires you are going to run on the street/track and what your end goal/RPM in the 1/4 mile is and build the trans around that. The evo 9 first and 4.11 would be too tall. If you plan on staying with stock sized(25.5") tires or taller the evo 8 3rd/4th gears work well on the stock FD and evo 9 first gear. If you are going to run a shorter tire then you may want all evo 8 ratios and a 4.31. If you are going to do a stroker then a 4.11 and evo 8 ratios work well. You can use Jacks trans calculator page and then add/subtract tire size %.

I'm currently running short tires on my car and the math worked out to be 3% taller then stock with a 4.11 . It is much faster then the 8% taller setup but you have to shift much more around town then with a 25" tire (8% taller then stock with a 4.11)

My current setup should go 133@8000rpm and the 25" tire should go 140@8000 IIRC. I've got a small turbo so it doesn't make good power past 8K

Having two sets of wheels is nice. You can have a stock FD and street tires and then 26" tall tires for the track. Best of both worlds if you are into drag racing.

Yeah my tires are smaller than stock as well. Im running 245/40/17 (24.8") and it definitely makes my gears shorter lol. Maybe i will get some 255/45 or 245/45 for the track.

Well i finally got to take the car to the track! The Street Car Takeover was in town and i figure why not a better time to make some passes. It was down for 2 months from Nov-Jan getting a rebuilt trans with an evo 8 4th and 5th gear along with an exedy twin HD. Other than that, nothing power wise on the car has changed. It did do way better at the track then i expected it to do. Started off with some mediocre passes trying to get the new clutch figured out but ended up with many 10 second passes then ended up doing a 10.7@136 after i dropped the tire pressure down to 25 psi. This was done on Bridgestone Potenza RE760 245/45/17 street tires. Not bad for a stock longblock just shy of 103,000 miles.

Ive been waiting a long time to get back to the track. And im sure this is the last pass the stock motor will see being that me and Tom have been discussing a 2.0l LR build which should happen this summer hopefully.

Pics attached below

TSCOMPTUNED FTW!
