Vary intrested on how this turbo will preform... Looking for an upgrade from my 5857.
No you are not stupid, I didn't know also about that.
I am not tune specialist so I don't exactly how that will work and what is the impact.
My tuner suggested to install it in order to run ECU in close loop with turbo RPM and if I want to go farther to install 2nd knock sensor.
If I recall correct he mentioned that reading turbo rpm is more accurate than boost controller for tune.
He mentioned that he will run ECU in close loop with turbo rpm, fuel pressure and fuel temperature and some other things.
I didn't find a lot of info in the net about turbo speed sensor, but I found other turbo manufacturer which is coming with that option.
If someone of our specialists here knows something more could jump in and give us more details.
Excuse me but that is the only info I can give for turbo speed sensor.

I'm confused, so are you saying there is a 300-500 rpm penalty to go from a gen 1 6266 to gen 2 6266?

Yes a couple hundred. Same shop same dyno that I use the gen1 6266 spools faster on a stock block/head than my built 2.3 with a gen2 6266

That doesn't sound quite right especially since i have been hearing the gen 2 6266 spools faster and makes more power than the gen 1 6266. Going from a stock block to a 2.3 should have definitely helped spool....

There is obviously more too because it's not really apples to apples. different cams and stuff between the two cars. But here are the dyno graphs. The first one is my car. evo9 2.3. Gen2 6266. r2 cams. No port work on the head. Plus the usual mods that go a long with this(innercooler, exhaust, ect....)

This is of the other car. Evo9 stock block/head. S1cams. Plus the usual mods that go a long with this(innercooler, exhaust, ect...)

Unfortunately that video is of the old discontinued probrably even cast wheel 6062... the one I'm interested in seeing is the new GEN2 6062 that was just released in April. ..

BUMP for more info

This should spool significantly faster than a 6262. Im wondering how it will do against an FP Black in terms of spool. The compresser wheel is 59.1mm on the black and 60mm on the 6062. It might even outspool the black in the .63 housing. I wonder how it would do in a properly set up t4 twin scroll in the .84 housing. I wouldnt wait for someone to post "results" here. This turbo is sure to be the ULTIMATE street turbo....for now.

I tried calling Precision about it today but all I got was a Brian O'connar sounding air head who says if I want 700hp I should get a 6266. He kept putting me on hold and their call waiting music is someone driving a car and it sounds really bad on the phone. I ended up telling HIM about Precision turbos so I hung up. He must have been new.

I had the same question... Looks like it would be beneficial when used in conjunction with a compressor map,... Which they don't provide.
