I had the pleasure to tune Joe's low mileage Evo IX. Joe wanted a few things
changed before tuning, and I recommended a few other things as well.
The vehicle was very fun to tune and drove excellent. As good or better then a bone
stock evo.
We performed the following on the car:
1. Installed a TSComptuned Walbro 255 /w modification and install kit
2. Cleaned engine bay, added vacuum lines where they were missing, and
visually inspected the entire car.
3. Added a Grimmspeed 3 port to the vehicle in combination with the existing Hallman Pro
4. Crimped dipstick / added more oil since the vehicle was down over a full quart.
5. Installed fresh spark plugs 1 step colder and gapped accordingly
6. Tuned vehicle on a dual map Tephra v7
The car I had put over 520whp on the E60 blend but I didnt like the AFR curve, as it was showing signs of pump not being able to keep up, so I dialed it back quite a bit. This can be shown by the yellow graph
The car was an absolute blast to tune on the street. The EF3 is a really nice responsive turbo and this cars mods just worked together so well.
93 oct results & E60 together: (Blue line: Final tune | Yellow line: Pump maxed | Green line: Ok, but dialed it back just a tad from there)
