So after an 8 month build, I finally got my evo 8 tuned at Boostin' Performance. She made 635hp and 554tq corrected at 35psi on E-85 on their mustang dyno. Devin is a super cool dude and really helpful/intelligent.
I did everything myself, aside from the tuning obviously. I got some slicks at home and I'm hoping to make a 9.9 second pass in the 1/4 mile in the spring; but I'm still on the stock drivetrain. I also shaved off over 300lbs and the car weighed in at 2,890lbs without me in it. This thing RIPS!! He also enabled No Lift Shift which is super nice but it's taking me a little bit to get used to it. It redlines at 7,800 and 2-step is set at 6,000. Hands down the fastest car I've ever been in. I've always dreamt of having a 1,000 horsepower evo, but after driving this thing I couldn't imagine what that would feel like. Anyways, to all my midwestern folks, I'll be racing at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, WI. I might upgrade the transfer case over the winter and eventually I'd like to get a dogbox. Here's the build list.
BLOCK:
4G64 87mm bore
Wiseco 1400HD Pistons (9.4:1 compression) (Top ring gapped to .022", Bottom ring gapped to .026")
Manley Turbo Tuff I-Beam Rods (ARP 200 bolts)
Stock 4G64 Crank
ARP Main Studs
ACL Bearings
Man, I never see any evos around. I live in racine but I travel all over wisconsin for work and im lucky just to see an evo x every now and then, i never see 8's or 9's

Same, there are some Xs around by me but very rarely do I see an 8/9.
I'm a long ways from Racine but I have a few buddies down that way with 8s but they have all been doing big builds the last few years lol.
Nice build! Interesting enough my build is very similar and I'm from WI as well. Sadly the cars been on jack stands the past two years while I slowly buy and assemble everything.
So I made it to the drag strip twice. So far my best time is 11.12 @129, man these guys make it look easy. I'm brand new to drag racing so I definitely need more experience, and I'm slipping the clutch a lot to in attempt to save my stock transfer case. My best 60' was a 1.65 but if I could get my shifts better I think a 10.5-10.2 second pass is very realistic. I'm hoping to make my first 10 second pass at the shootout this year! Im racing in the 10.5 index.
Well this was my first year at the shootout and my best time was 10.70 at 128! Im finally starting to get used to the car, but launching is difficult. My best 60' is a 1.65 and I think if i can get that down to a 1.4 we could be looking at a 9 second pass.

That ET and MPH is excellent but realistically there isnt enough MPH in it for a 9. Some say for every .1 in your 60' you can cut .2 in ET but even at that your cars going to run out of steam.
Im curious what your uncorrected power numbers are because 635whp on a Mustang dyno should put you at 140mph trap speeds
Yeah I'm not sure what's going on with the mph.. It is a 2.4L that redlines at 7,900. I'm hoping to get my 60' down to low 1.5's but i'm a very inexperienced driver.
