alpine 6x9

alpine 6x9

hey guys, im buying an evo in the next week or 2 im trying to decide between 2 Evos. im stepping out of my 1g tsi i recently put a full alpine stereo in the 1g, and the guy who is buying my 1g doesn't want the stereo (works for me). im wanting to know if there is room to fit my alpine type r 6x9 s in the rear deck? if not i guess ill sale them and get kicker ss 6.5 all around. also does the Evo 8 gsr have 4 or 6 speakers?

nonSSL - 4 speakers w/ 2 tweater
SSL same but w/ a sub.
6x9 wont bolt in, but of course you can modify, not that its worth it.

the EVO is uses a Euro-Din 7" speaker front & rear. 6.5's & 6.75's will fit with fabrication, but a 6x9 would have to be a complete custom job.

in the '03 i just run 6.5 components up front & 1 12" in the trunk...

the only reason i wanted to know about the 6x9's are because i already own them making a custom bracket,adapter wont be a big deal. thanks for the speaker info guys i appreciate it.

you're gonna need a sawzall to cuit a 6x9 shape into the rear deck + to get 1/2way decent sound out of them u will need to also build boxes for them & bolt them to the bottom of the rear deck. it would be alot easier for you to ebay the ovals & get some speaks that fit with less pain... just a thought

we'll see first step is to get the car. i have built a few spl cars so the custom fab isnt a problem , but i understand what your saying. i was just trying to avoid buying anything else that way i could focus on performance, but i cant be without my music .

I ran 7x10's for years as exceptionally good sound in a moving car is about as usefull as a banana for cleaning the botty. The 7x10's could handle most amps and provide enough bass to compensate for a small or no sub.
