Anyone using I-pod with their head unit?

I was curious how the ipod was mounted. If anyone has any pics of installs that would be great!

If you Got one of those alpine Head units that are Ipod ready and you have the ipod cable just feed the Cable into you glove box and Put you ipod in there the headunit can change the tracks and folders and stuff. Realy sleek And easy to do.

I bought a universal mount for my IPOD mini from BestBuy and I mounted it to the inside lid of my center console arm rest. I ran the cable from my Alpine head unit all the way through the center console, un-screwed the arm lrest lid from the bracket, ran the cable through the bracket which conviniently has a gap in the center that can accomodate this cable. I un-screwed the plastic from the cloth covered portion of the lid, and attached the bracket to the inside plastic piece. Re-screwed the inner plastic piece of the lid back to cloth external piece of the arm rest. Very stealthy. You can't even see it if you open the arm rest. I will attach pics later tonight.

Same here. Works great on long trips. I had an 8 hour drive from Memphis to Solo Nationals in Topeka-no bothering with searching for CD's or a decent radio station.

iPod cable is snaked to the glovebox, so iPod is hidden when it's in the car.

iPod and XM on the Alpine rocks!

Don't know if you've already bought one, but Pioneer's new head units with the ipod interface work very well. Not quite as fast as the new Alpine, but the overall quality of the Pioneers are much better.

i got my ipod hooked up to my pioneer deck... i did a radio relocation thingy so my gauges are where the old deck used to be and i slapped my ipod next to the gauges with velcro... it just has a small little wire running from the cd player to the ipod but it still looks clean and it holds up pretty good

Ive been wondering the same thing on the type-s'. Ive heard they are pretty good, especially when run off the HU alone, not amplified. If you're gonna go amped, you can find a better speaker. I'm making an appt to get some type-s installed in the front, ill let you know how they turn out.
