Sony MEX-BT5000 W/ Bluetooth, any good?

I'm thinking to get a new HU, anyone have this unit in their Evo? I like this unit because of the bluetooth, I drive about 3 to 4 hours round trip to and from work.
Thanks.

I've had it in my car for 3 months, I like the radio but I'm yet to use the Bluetooth on it beacuse of a software problem with the Sirius adapter unit attached to the radio. Basically it causes the radio to shut down at times(voltage issue),along with all of the features being set to zero (subwoofer,EQ etc.). It just needs to be reset, but every time that happens it needs to paired to the phone again. My contact at DEI (the people that make the Sirius adapter) assure me that the fix should be here soon.

If I didn't have the Sirius problem the radio would be perfect, again that is not Sony's fault. It is also priced reasonably compared to other headunits with Blue tooth on the market.

I have had problems with the MEX1GP Giga panel.

The source button kills all volume on the MP3 player.

You have to turn the unit on and off to get the MP3 back.

Only happens when there is no CD or AUx inputs.

Sent it in for repair and they sent it back with the same problem and I had to pay $10.00 shipping.

I have sent it in a second time, at tlest they paid the shipping this time.

I have lost weeks fooling with this POS. Have popped the dash panel four times and I will have to do it again.

Not happy at all, they have quality issues, and they did not repair the unit right.

I should have left my RS stock, no radio.

I liked sony, but this has been a mess, I don't know about your head unit, but since it is in the MEX series it will have the same basic setup as the MEXGP1.

Might want to look at somethig else and save the head ache.
