Viper 5900 and Turbo Timer?

I am going to get the viper 5900 this month and these options:

2-Way Security System / Remote Start System with Responder SST Technology

-6 channel remote start/security/keyless entry system
-Confirms commands and system triggers on the transceiver LCD screen
-Clone-Safe® Code-Hopping®
-Parking Light Flash
-Failsafe® Starter Kill
-Anti-Grind
-Stinger® DoubleGuard® Shock Sensor
-Revenger® Six-Tone Siren
-Bright Blue LED Status Indicator
-Miniature XCRS (Extreme Capacity Relay Satellite)
-Defroster Output
-Built-in Turbo Timer
-Dome Light Supervision
-Comfort Closure
-4 Auxiliary Outputs
-Horn Honk
-Includes One 2-way Responder SST Transceiver

But I want a greddy turbo timer too. Can I still use the Greddy turbo time with this alarm system? What exactly is the turbo timer that comes with the alarm? What does Anti-Grind mean? Also, what does the Failsafe® Starter Kill do?

Yes, you can use a turbo timer along with the alarm system. You just want to make sure the viper's turbo timer is not activated. The turbo timer on the alarm does the same thing. You set it to a particular timer 1min, 2 min etc.. and when activated, it will shut off. The Greddy might have more features on it. My old Apexi tt had battery readings, etc. I cna't remember what anti-grind is..I think it prevent you from autostarting the car when your is already started. The starter kill is a feature that cuts off your starter when your alarm is going off.

The 5900 is a great system with amazing range, I highly recommend it. If your main concern with purchasing the GReddy turbo timer is for the TT feature then save your money and just use the one built into the Viper. The TT on the Viper is activated by pressing 2 buttons on the remote simultaneously. The only downside (if you can even consider it one) is that the cool-down time is pre-programmed for 1-min, 3-min or 5-min. I find that 1 minute is more then enough even after a round of hard driving.

The anti-grind circuitry simply prevents you from grinding the starter if it was remote started already. Failsafe starter kill allows you to still be able to start your car normally in the event that the alarm fails / gets disconnected / fuse blows.

Greddy tt has a mode that recommend a cool down time by estimating the driving RPM via alternator signal. It also has stopwatch/lapt time, built in voltmeter and speedomenter. The Viper's tt is just a standard tt.
