Help match speakers to my amp.

My system is completely stock right now but I have a JL 6450 amp sitting in my garage I was considering installing. http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_amps.php?amp_id=403
I Dont need the best stuff out there, I just want good quality sound. What should I get and about how much is it going to run me?

Alpines are really good speakers, but if you've got a bit more to spend go with the MB Quarts. At the local shop here they sell the component system for 600 bucks, but ive seen stuff they sell for 800 bucks go for 300 on eBay brand new.

What about the a-pillar tweeters, and Should I hook those up to their own channel?

No...they run together with the door speakers..so when you replace the door speakers the tweeters come out and youll put the alpines or whatever you get in there.!! The component set comes with tweeters already...so just swap them out during the installation...oh yea...make sure that whatever tweeter you go with fits the stock size

That's an ok deal, but you want to get component speakers for the front. The Discus series for MB is their entry level, not the best sound quality. If the $350 is for all 4 speakers, look into MB Quarts (reference series), JL Audio, Alpine, or Diamond Audio. I have experience with all of these. IMHO either the Diamonds (Hex series) or JLs (XR series) have the best sound quality for the $$$

if its 350 total, i would definitely buy the sl60 bostons for front/ sl65 or sx65 for back.

i have used/installed/sold all of the previously mentioned speakers.
i am now on the manufacturing end of mobile electronics.
those particular bostons are the best for that type of money(i dont work for them)

use the 5th and 6th ch bridged to a single sub jl w3v3 4 ohm or w1 4 ohm

Its actually a w6450 which is the exact same thing as the a6450 but with a marine coating. I talked to the tech department at JL and they said it would work fine.

i'm happy with my focal components...listen to a number of different brands and see which one appeals to you most. remember, if its sounds good to you, that's all that matters

here's a set of JBL components to fit your budget but they are currently sold out: JBL GTO606C- $99.95/pair thru Etronics

http://www.etronics.com/listproducts...1A247B236197B5

i'm using a set of Niche Audio NS6.5C components (1 pair) in the front with an Alpine Type-X 12" in the trunk. my components were $86/set & they handle 200W RMS...
