Replacement spare tire

I just had my spare tire replaced with a custom fiberglass/wood box. I think the shop did a great job with fit & finish. The cover for the subs is great as well, as it allows me to still use my trunk. What do you guys/ladied think??

That's originally what I was going to do, then I got a call from the fabricator and he said there was room for 2 and enouhg airspace. I know I can always turn it down if I want, but if I went with one, I'd have to get a whole new box built if I changed my mind later. So I ponied up a little extra cash and just went with the pair. I drive hard, and the last sub box ended up flying all over the place, I'm sure this one will stay put. I've done all of my car audio upgrades through the same local shop since the dealership tried to give me a Jensen Amp, and a Audiovox Sub as a upgraded sound package. The shop I know take my car to does very clean, and reliable work. Plus they cut me deals due to how much business I have given them over the years.

That is very cool.

How much should I expect to pay for a job like that?

The shop I went to, charged me $2200 for the 2 focal 11" subs, JL 500/1, Stinger cell, and custom box. In the end, it worked out to be about $500 bucks for the box. It sounds awesome!!! I can't really get the full effect until I replace the front speakers with some seperates. I'm running the stock one on a seperate RF monoblock amp, but the bass can still drown them out if I turn it up. Right now the JL amp is only running at about 25% of its capacity, so I get to hear the mids and highs. Have to wait just a bit and restock my wallet before I get my seperates. Initially I wanted to build the motor, but my wife was nervous about voiding the warranty so I decided to go this way.

Cellphone and AAA. In twenty years of driving on US soil, I have never used a spare tire.

see that is very nice, I wanted something like that but I am too afraid with my luck i would get a flat somewhere in the middle of no where with no spare and bad things would happen.

get a can of tire filler, a can of air, and keep a plug kit in the car.... thats what i did in my old car as the whole trunk was nothing but subs and amps...

if your tire blows your then your S.O.L. but how often does that happen?

Focal... nice. I have never been a huge fan of their subs, but regardless they still perform very nicely. Great choice in amp!

Eclipse is NOT what it used to be. Nothing wrong with JL amps other than their price.
