It depends on the tint, if it metalized then yes, but if its not then you're fine. I had the option of going with some inexpensive metalized tint, but because of my radar i stepped up to some better quality non-metalized tint and was fine.

love my V1... Mine is mounted using the sun visor clip on the passenger side visor... then I have the cord running down the passenge side A-piller (tucked behind the plastic) then the cord runs behind the glove box and pops out by the cig lighter... not as cool as how you have it rigged up, but the cord is out of the way and it only took me a minute or two to run the cord thru there. After owning a V1 I would never want to be without one

I've heard this about the metalized tint as well. I wasn't sure about the non-metalized tint though. Thanks!

very nice. I had the same setup in my previous car. Where exactly did you hardwire the V1 (i.e. what did you hardwire it to)

Like a previous post stated, a lot of SSL people hard wired it to their sunroof relays. Well i dont' have one. So i took the phillips screw out of the sunglass holder, and the two hex bolts behind the lightbulbs of the dome's out and it revieled a plastic connector hosting a black and a black/white wire. Upon using a volt light and a volt meter, i found the black/white wire was 12 volts, so i presumed to wire the kit that comes with the V1 to both, only to find out that the "ground" wire actually takes the "hot" wire down to 7 volts once the ing. is off. Which caused the V1 to go BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP endlessly. My first assumption was, of course, a bad ground, so i then ran the ground wire of the kit to the screw that went into the sunglass holder, and the alum roof.....and whatcha know, no beeps, flawless performance....however i no longer had the ability to shut it off off of the relay that the dome lights ran on....my next test, whe i get time, is to try and ground it to the brass ground on the right hand bulb of the dome's....no pics, sorry, but it isn't rocket science either....thoughts?

OBTW, its friday, and i'm on my 7th "Old Chub" scotch style ale...which i got from Knightly's, for those that live near Kirkman Rd. in Orl....so i appol. for my drunken stuper rampages
